I said the same thing about Khan when he was looking a tad lacklustre against domestic foes, a top level amateur shouldn't go from fighting world class boxers to fighting perceived pushovers, inevitably Gavin won't have the prerequisite fire lit under his ass needed to be at his best, but his lesser opponents with a golden ticket opportunity, will.

This is a good fight, but the circumstance is definitely reminiscent of Prescott. I'm sure that isn't lost on anyone, it's not as though Gavin's going to meet him in the centre of the ring and let 'em go, so I doubt we've another shock in store, at least not inside a round. :OhYes:

One thing we haven't had to talk about yet in gavins career is his chin, I've seen him take flush shots on the chin by Mario kindelan in the amateurs and it didn't phase him one bit, I know the pros is different but I really believe we are going to see Frankie Gavin at his best on October 28th and all the doubters will see what all of the fuss has been about !

Chaves has fought fighters with a winning record 95% of the time. I like FW's new matchmaking.

I don't think even frank knows how good Gavin is, his had his ears drummed from people in the know that Gavin needs a test and his made it happen.

Good hard fight here for Gavin, Chaves will have power and weight advantage and is by far the best boxer Gavin will have faced

A run of the mill fight for Gavin, the type of non threat he'll have difficulty getting up for, and probably tap out another dull points win. If he's as good as a lot of people think, I think he needs a risky fight to bring out the best in him.

Horta's a decent fighter, was unlucky not to get the nod against Mark Thompson a couple of years ago and has mixed in good class.... After Gavins performance against Woodhouse I dont think Warren is going to throw him in with anyone at a much higher level

Is it one of these new allegedly TV shows, free ones? If so I suppose you can understand the reduced revenue the show is going to be attracting etc...

Sounds like a typical Allegedly opponent to me.

Never been stopped (which means he will be this time) and a KO ratio around 30%.

Frankie really needs a testing fight to motivate him, or a defeat. This kinda fight will just lead to further lacklustre performances IMO.
