Where abouts in Pontefract did they hold this?

Its my home town. I can only think the town hall or squash club. We not be renouned for boxing round here, but we've had a few decent pros lately.

Good Luck Larry, A ripped intrested Delboy will be an intresting encounter and surly the winner will move onto bigger things!! then a rematch with bad intentions for the english belt would be a great match also for early next year

Bad match for Larry and not in his best interests. He needs a couple of warm-up fights to work on his defence and regain his confidence following the McDermott loss, which was quite a shattering one for the big man looking back.

This match reminds me of when Pele Reid was pitched in with Orlin Norris after he had just been exposed by Julius Francis. I hope Larry pulls it off though - good luck pal.

What happened to the top 10 ranked opponent that they were talking about for del boy. Looks like they trying to trim there boxers. As most of title fights on up coming shows are matching there own stable.

Wow, I'm a little shocked, Larry a big underdog of course, but this is heavyweight stuff and chisora seems to have lost a little heart to me, Larry must defend well and time his bombs perfectly, I won't be surprised if Larry pulls this off ! :TU: best of luck big boy.

We are lucky to have a decent domestic HW scene over here. Plenty of intriguing matches around with Price, Larry, Chisora, Fury, Perez, Towers, Dallas, Sexton, Rogan, Sprott, Harrison, and even Haye if he has a tune up against one of these lot.

I agree, Hayes still the man to beat, I enjoy watching fury but for me price this time next year will be the one to go places. Watch this space.

if derick fights like he did against fury he's getting beat again i cant see him getting up for a fight with larry (no disrespect ment to larry) but this is larry's chance to gatecrash the domestic sene COME ON LARRY make him miss make him pay :TU:

x100 Ben,

The big guy is probably in a no win situ, in that he would be dropped by wazza if he didnt take this VERY dangerous fight.

Hey Larry I really hope you do it mate but it's a mega tough ask and hardly the confidence builder you deserve. I don't like DelBoy so I hope you punch his melt in. :TU:

Nope. Fury outboxed him. Larry can't.

Take him down, Larry. Tough fight as you know. You can win this, though. :TU: Stick it too him early. He is durable but his motivation is waning. Hit him hard, early and often.

Make no mistake this is a test for both, Larry is my friend and I've known Del a long time now, Larry has power that can stretch anyone! Yes he's had limited experience but he puts it all on the line everytime! I wish other fighters in the sport had Larry's gameness and will to succeed! It would be a better sport, I think this is a good fight and credit to Larry for stepping up too..

Big respect to the big man!!

Boxing can be a cruel sport at times and this matchup is a good example of how it can suck from time to time.

Larry isn't at the level of Chisora, and I am struggling to make a case for Larry winning this unless he connects with a big one early on.

Even if Chisora does come in out of shape, we know he can go 12 rounds no problem, he did just that against Fury.

Would love to be proven wrong though :box:

At domestic level Fury is the only guy who has the beating of Chisora. I'm pretty sure Chisora never wanted any part of Tyson Fury judging by how he handled himself before and during their bout.

Derek needs to re-discover his thirst for a fight. If he can put behind him the ease with which Fury dealt with him and sort his mindset out then Chisora wins by stoppage, if he comes in sleep walking, he might be in trouble.

Great slugfest, but will be over in three rounds and probably a very brutal win for Del Boy.

Its my home town. I can only think the town hall or squash club. We not be renouned for boxing round here, but we've had a few decent pros lately.
My mate texted me last night, to say this fight was taking place in Pontefract, I got excited for a few moments as he seemed very, very certain of his facts. The fxxking knob. I've been wondering all day why it would possibly be staged in Ponty - my hometown - and can now see he was pissed as a fart when he skimmed through the thread.

We were meant to get Joe Frazier down the road in Castleford earlier this year, but the promoter staged a Ricky Hatton event a few weeks earlier, and the fans drank the civic centre dry of beer, it ended in a big fall out between the promoter and the council and I'm told he won't bring any such events back to council properties. So he staged it elsewhere and trebled the ticket prices, £20 for a slap up meal whilst listening to Joe Frazier is a bargain but the locals got robbed :-?

Anyway, hello to fellow boxrecers from this part of the world, see you at Olubamwino vs Chisora at the squash club... I wish :D

Totally agree jon and unless larry is gettin great money for this i wouldnt take the fight, i see no way he can win it, chisora can bang and he can bang harder than mcdermott, hes tough and has a good chin and good skill level and will more than likely be in better shape that his last one ( he managed 12 then anyway) terrible fight but its a sink or swim one i guess. Warren is doing same to appelby this weekend but i think paul will upset the apple cart.
