Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
Audley should have "started fighting" last year, never mind next year, then he may have stood a chance vs Haye.
The plank appearing on 'Strictly' may win him a few armchair fans but it will piss the purists off even more.
He's making yet more cash for himself off the back of a dross professional career, which is why they only ever mention the Olympic gold and not what he's done, or failed to do, since.
He's one of the few guys out there with the physical attributes to at least make a fist of it vs the K bros - size, weight, a good jab when he last used it (in 2000 probably) and half-decent power - yet he instead goes on a TV show (less than a year after a world title shot) and doesn't have the mental toughness to make a success of himself in the ring during arguably the longest slough of HW pugilistic despond in decades.
If he hasn't done it already, and he hasn't, then he should hang up his gloves.
His CV reflects very favourably on him - British and Euro titles, world title shot etc - but we know better.
Anton Du Beke would KO him in 2.
As for Fury? He's lucky Chisora ate himself out of the reckoning in their fight and he should avoid Perez.
Perez is hungry, but for success and wins, not burger and chips.

Audley never won the British belt.
Bottom line, he doesn't train. Which is why he's been beaten by D,C and B listers since he turned pro.

rubbish harrison has always been in great shape. He's scared to get hit and also let his hands go thats why he gets beaten.Karl Jade wrote:Audley never won the British belt.

Great shape? Is that a joke?
He usually looks good, but so does Larry Olubamiwo, who can't box to save his life. Looks mean nothing in boxing.
Bottom line, Audley does not train. Not how a boxer should, anyway.

oh please do elaborate! Big training camp with top sparring partners? yes. Long runs at high altitudes? yesKarl Jade wrote:Great shape? Is that a joke?

Sure he'd get a decent payday, but losing in that fight could be the end of him.jBacca wrote:Big payday if Fury fights either Klit and it's not the end of the world if he loses. He's trying to get to a Klitschko, so he should prepare by fighting similar fighters. Perez is a six foot southpaw. Crazy.
There's alot of heavies that have never recovered after losing badly in a title shot, Michael Grant springs to mind

Though, I don't believe Fury will ever be ready for either Klit, especially before they retire. The massive payday he could receive relatively soon could end up retiring with the brothers if Fury's team wait too long.

Who is promoting Perez ? They need to work harder to raise his profile. Outside of prizefighter, I can't name a single person he's beat.
Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
Top sparring partners? I met one of them in the Worsley Marriott 2 days before the Haye fight. Even I'd have beaten him up in sparring.kingfinn wrote:oh please do elaborate! Long runs? Most fighters do that 5 days a week. Audley did it about 6 times within a 2 month training camp after having a 6 month break from boxing. The man simply has never committed to his training.

Harrison had a 12 week training camp - thats 3 months not 2, you're just writting rubbish. Go and troll on boxing scene or something.

Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
He clearly didn't have a 3 month training camp. The fight was Nov.13th and he was still mincing about with stupid promos in England on September 13th.
The man doesn't train, and it's one of the main reasons why he's scared to take punches and throw them.

enuff said!
Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
That was 10 years ago, and nobody disputed that he always looks in shape - until last month at least. Fighting shape has nothing to do with asthetics.

I love this. Mike Perez doesn't deserve a shot at Fury, but the likes of Nicolai Firtha are?
The Fury/Firtha fight was an abomination. Big gross fat men crudely cuffing each other around like a pub carpark. No guy has any future at world level.

Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
Changing the subject is it right that Hosea Burton is turning pro with Hennessy?HS Press wrote:PROMOTER Mick Hennessy has come out and ridiculed any suggestion from Mike Perez that he deserves a shot at British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Hennessy is working towards unbeaten Fury returning to the ring in November on the back of an exciting fifth round stoppage of American Nicolai Firtha at the King's Hall last Saturday night.
Cork-based Perez, from Cuba, has come out and challenged Fury to a dust-up but promoter Hennessy says he can “forget about it”.
Hennessy commented: “Clearly somebody's little cage has bee rattled in Ireland after Tyson's great win at the weekend and from what I can see it is the people around him who are mouthing off, not Perez. I would be surprised if it was Perez because when Tyson was an amateur he gave him two very bad beatings in sparring and there were plenty of witnesses to it.
“That was when Perez was already a pro and Tyson was out of shape and a raw amateur. Since then we offered Perez the chance to fight Tyson at the King's Hall and after verbally agreeing to the fight his people then turned it down in order to fight Jonathan Banks on the Odyssey Arena show a week earlier in Belfast and ended up not boxing on either show. Clearly the people around him are desperate to get him a fight but it won't be on the back of Tyson Fury.
“Anyone who knows anything about boxing will know that Tyson is in a completely different league to Perez. This isn't three three-minute rounds like the amateurs or the one-night tournament he was involved in, it's a 12-round fight and Tyson would badly expose him.
“He had his chance to fight Tyson, talked a good game but didn't follow through so he has missed the boat. We're not here to be messed about, Tyson is moving on. So Perez, or whoever it is, can shoot his mouth off all he wants but he's just not in our plans now.”
Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
Perez is definitely a better opponent than most being mentioned. I think it's a fight that could go either way but if I had to pick I'd say Perez inside six rounds.
Perez is unbeaten and a Prizefighter champion. He looks in good shape and he has an entertaining style. It's an easy sell and would generate public interest. If Hennessy really thought Fury was so far ahead of Perez and that he posed no threat, he'd be trying to get the fight made - not talking about moving on from him. This shows they see Perez as a considerable risk to their man.

Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
I'd like to see how Fury would handle that overhand right from Perez which looked lethal in PF. Firtha rocking Fury has given me fresh doubts about the man and I see Perez as a more dangerous foe.
If Fury can last the first six, I'd fancy him to ride out a points win.

Re: TYSON IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE TO PEREZ
From what i hear, Hennessey really does fancy Fury in this fight. I heard a while ago from a damn good source that they wanted Perez for the last Five date but couldn't get him. I was surprised because i agree with posters above that this is a 50-50 fight.
But whether people rate Fury or not, i am pretty sure that MH would do this fight if it made financial sense because he is convinced that Fury wins easily.

Parcel Force Harrison was on TalkSport last night, threatening to resume his boxing career in 2012 & if he were to fail again, then to retire.alanhatrick wrote:Why hasnt Audley come forward as of late? I know his tap dancing after all but im missing his "its gonna be his year cracks" and wanting to win a belt, and I thought with boxing on terrestrial tv he would be putting his name about for another payday, Id like to see Tyson put him away as he is a good scalp to get but also as stated by other people it could also be a turn off for the boxing fans!!
Perez and Rogan should get it on as they seem to do alot of talking about money issues and have both won the prziefighter saying the so has Audley on ice.
He claims that he tried to get a fight with Fury, but Fury didn't want to know.
He also claims that he had a serious injury right before the Haye fight & that is the reason why he threw one punch. He also claims that the referee stopped the fight too early & he will explain all on RINGSIDE in 2 weeks.
That poor man.
It's getting to the point where I'm considering setting up a benevolent fund to raise money to get him put into care.
He's got real issues Mr Harrison has.
