Ben Wise, Oakland, CA, was Eddie Machen's chief sparring partner in 1958 when Machen got ko'd by Ingemar Johansson. His record in BoxRec stretches from 1950-59.
Listed is also one Bobby Wise, 1952-55, who fought at the same venues in California, against the same kind of opposition.
Query; is this the same fighter? It could be, because in the official program of the Johansson-Machen card, Wise is announced with about 30 fights. He boxed Bert Whitehurst then.
Can somebody confirm this?

Two different fighters. In the 1959 RRB there is a mention that Ben Wise fought under the name Jack Gibson because his name was so similar to his brother Bob Wise
