Its blooming Jim Neilly who appears to have jumped the BBC ship and joined ITV.

What are ITV thinking.

Oh well, better give him a chance.

He didn't do that a bad job, but still cannot understand why ITV have plumped for him - with Steve Holdsworth and Jim Rosenthal working their last two shows. Are they going to try a different commentator for each show.

Perhaps Neilly's improvement has something to do with the statistician helping him out.

Some slight exaggerations in his commentatory the "great" Julien Lorcy?

I was shocked when I heard that aswell

The way he said 'GREAT' was greatly exaggerated. He made Julien Lorcy sound like an all-time legend and a hall of famer :P

Yeah Arthur having Sinitsin in "a whole world of trouble" after a decent left hook in the third was a bit over the top as well. ITV are just using the early shows to try out new things, wasn't this the third different commentary team? I thought Steve Collins was going to take McGuigans place on SKY, i was impressed with his analysis the other night.

Steve Collins did a decent job tonight although called Alex Arthur - Alex Stewart at least once.

Yes, if you would have heard that commentary with watching the fight you could have sworn that Arthur was on the verge of stopping him time and time again. However, it was on in the last round where Sinistin looked in serious trouble.

Alex Stewart was the cutsman, and Collins kept on saying that he was doing a good job on the cuts. Nothing wrong with that

Yeah I noticed that to.

The word 'great' must be the most overused name in Boxing.

Really gets on my nerves sometimes.

Well actually he was talking about the cutsman, then he went back to talking about Arthur, hence the "Alex Stewart". At least it was only once, Jim Neilly spent the entire evening talking about "Alec Arthur".

I thought when talking about Arthur he said Stewart once, I don't want to be too critical of Neilly who is strongly rumoured to be a forum member. It was a better combination than Neilly and McKenzie but still thought Rosenthal was better the last time.

I have to say I was stunned when Matt Smith said "commentators are Jim Neilly" for two reasons 1) I thought Neilly would be working for tbe BBC because he is a good amateur commentator and also does other sports - and is an excellent Rugby commentator, I thought he was integral to BBC sport. 2) With the continued improvements made since the Khan vs Kindelan III match I really did think members of ITV sport might have been reading this forum or at least listening to the e-mails. With the criticisms we have given Jim "Howard Eastwood" Neilly in the past it is apparently not.

I wonder is Neilly is actually a freelance and it was just a one off apparence. Rosenthal was with the F1 this morning so I doubt could have done the Boxing.
