This'll stir some debate - he talked a great game and was calling out Calzaghe at one point, but then a dreadful bit of match-making (with the benefit of hindsight) saw him thrown in with a seasoned Glenn Johnson and it all came apart for him.
There are some on here that think he was over-rated by virtue of his ability to self-publicise, but on the couple of occasions I saw him I thought he looked strong and sharp, and capable of getting to fringe world-level. Calzaghe would have clearly taken him to the cleaners though.

A dickie bird told me that he dropped Calzaghe in sparring once?
I wasn't aware they'd ever actually sparred, let alone Owoh decking him.

Toks Owoh is likely to be boxing a six rounder on 8th October at York Hall (if Leon Williams avoids him). He has been nominated for the Southern Area title against Leon Williams which is due to go to purse bids and the fighet must take place by the end of October. Leon does not appear to want to box Toks so I think he will vacate rather than box him which is a shame.

Your right he should, but i think he's fighting for the English against Tony Conquest down the line, taken on Tow's and if he lost it would close some doors.......

If this fight happened for the english title would show how much a joke the bbbc are and prove everybody right about the crusierweight division.

:box: Toks Owoh has been around a long time turned pro in 1995 I think and never lived up to his boasts.Never made even southern area grade. Of course looked OK against regular losers such as Tony Booth, Paul Bonson and Hastings Rasani but who wouldn't?
I remember years ago him calling out Joe Calzaghe but lets be fair Calzaghe was streets in front of him and of course the board would have looked at it as a gross mis match.
He would have got hammered by Calzaghe no doubt about it.
Now after a few years out of the ring he seems to have reappeared, saw him at York Hall recently and he seemed to struggle in a 4 rounder, enough said.
He's going where he went the first time he was about and that is nowhere. :box:

Toks boxes John Anthony on the 8th October then on 3rd December goes for the Southern Area Cruiserweight title. Then he wants an English/British title shot.

So the viper is back !
I've only seen him box once I think - and that was 12 years ago !!
He got a stoppage against a foreign guy.
I was there watchin my pal Buster Keeton against Tony Booth.
Shit I feel old.
My recollection is of a very powerful puncher - one of those in the "avoid him" catagory.

When I lived in London and was fond a bet Toks was part of the furniture in the local Will Hill. Probably needs the cash to chase the next favourite in the dogs. What a nice fella though. Always could laugh with him when we both were losing
