That allegedly.tv website is awful. Its got plenty of spelling mistakes, lacks information and not all the links work properly.

I've not seen the press conference did they say whether they had a official website yet?

Also is there any news whether you will be able to watch it online or on BT vision?

whats the story with allegedly and virgin?

Post by handsofstone »

why is it that difficult to find out if allegedly gona be on virgin? the virgin logo from the allegedly websites gone so surely one of them can come out and let us fans know whats happening especially after Warren announced it would be on both sky and virgin. the lack of response has been totally disrespectful to us.

I suspect that allegedly have been strongarmed by sky. There have been wranglings over Sky overcharging Virgin for their sports channels previously, Branson reported them to the monopolies commission over it I believe.

I can well imagine Sky demanding that allegedly don't allow themselves to be shown on Virgin, or Sky will pull out. Sky have far more clout basically, much bigger subscriber base than Virgin overall, unless something has changed very recently.

I'm assuming with all the time they have to fill that there will be replays of various shows. I'm tempted to get a subscription online but I work odd hours. With no record function, I want to be sure I can see the shows I have paid for if not live exactly.

I agree. It's pissed me off a bit that they carried the virgin logo, then it disappeared, meaning it won't be on Virgin for launch. They should also come clean about exactly when they are going to start charging as well. Will we get Cleverly Bellew free?

There's a number of inconsistencies across the allegedly.tv site which is pretty alarming given that it's a simple site with only 5 or 6 different pages.

The main home page has a Hopkins v Dawson ad with "Only £10 a month" and "Join Today", while following that link shows the October schedule leading me to believe that encryption will take place ahead of the 15th October. This schedule also shows Frankie Gavin v Lee Purdy, while the main schedule shows Gavin v Chaves. I think it's been made pretty clear in a number of places that Gavin and Purdy are not fighting, but it's still there. And then there is the Huck v Wlodarczyk fight that simply isn't happening and is still being advertised with the fight poster for Huck v Rossi (which is happening). This renders the claim of 6 World Title Fights a blatant lie, especially when you consider that one of the fights is the Burns v Katsidis WBO Interim Lightweight title (great fight, but not a real world title).

Start as you mean to go on, eh Frankie?

So f*cked off its unreal. :witzend:
I agree, its a shambles

It's only my take on it but I suspect (as James McDonnell alludes to) that it costs Virgin to offer a platform to a sports channel.

To get on there, they have to prove their worth.

Is Premier Sports available on Virgin yet, for example? Even if it is now, I know for a good while it wasn't and was told they'd been knocked back and had to come up with a stronger offering.

And for the general sports fan, Premier is a far better package than allegedly.

I understand that but surely FW should have sorted all this out before making an announcement and commiting to the fans that this will be on Virgin?

This is bu11sh1t.

I follow this Cleverly-Bellew rivalry. I watch these guys build up and now I can't watch them???

I hate Sky's football. I don't really want to pay for it I just have no choice if I want the fights.
