Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
Im prity much over the BS Mundine is on about, im the best I am a World Title holder. Am I rite that Mundine hasnt won a world title just an interim title (and im not saying that not a big deal ). Let face it Daniel Geale and Michael Katsidies have both won interim titles but they have gone on to bigger things both known world wide. Dont get me wrong I think Mundine has great talent but just talks the talk and to date does not walk the walk. He said on an interview lately he cant get overseas fights is that because they dont recognise him or they think like most of us do that hes a dill. I never thought I would say this but the sooner he retires the better for boxing it will be. ![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)
Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
This reminds me of the story of the great Roberto Duran who fought well past his peak because he did not know anything else.
Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
You are spot on that he has never won a full world Title, i.e. he has never even been the best in his chosen organisation let alone division...

even at 50,duran will be more respected than mundine when it comes to boxing, duran fought the best, mundine talked about it,talk is cheap

Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
i reckon that near 40 year old duran that fought barkley would have gotten the job done against chocBrute wrote:When Duran was 50.thunderfromdownunder wrote:mundine reminds you of duran?Brute wrote:This reminds me of the story of the great Roberto Duran who fought well past his peak because he did not know anything else.
Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
Duran only stopped fighting at 50 because he was badly banged up in a traffic accident. Last time I saw him on TV he looked light two lightweights.

Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
Boxhead its got nothing to do with Green Mundine with all his talent just does not fight as he said the best. look maybe its just me but im over Mundine, once l thought he was good for the sport but not now. What he says is not only imbarising to himself but also to Boxing. Once he give it away he will be forget in the blink of an eye.

He retired from boxing at 50. He is now 60.caveman wrote:even at 50,duran will be more respected than mundine when it comes to boxing, duran fought the best, mundine talked about it,talk is cheap

I know he didnt take the title from the champ, but he was full WBA super middle weight champ, so he is a one weight world champ, Green had the proper WBA light heavy weight title so he's a one weight world champ aswell. If Green wins his next fight his a two weight champ.

its got nothin to do with green, colin this jealousy n hatred started when green came on da scene. im over green just as much as i am over mundine, imo green n mundine should never of fought, a win 4 mundine n people were gonna hate him even more anyway...were just not gonna here the end of it are we, "Oh Danny was Too Light"..."Oh they should of fought at cruiser" get the F**k over it.colin russell wrote:Boxhead its got nothing to do with Green Mundine with all his talent just does not fight as he said the best. look maybe its just me but im over Mundine, once l thought he was good for the sport but not now. im pretty sure he was the regular champ both times. ottke was the super champ during his first reign and i think calzaghe was when he won it the second timeMark pawsey wrote:I know he didnt take the title from the champ, but he was full WBA super middle weight champ, so he is a one weight world champ, Green had the proper WBA light heavy weight title so he's a one weight world champ aswell. Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
It has nothing to do with Green and Mundine...this is simply Mundine being a mouth but being unable or unwilling to back it up. When he beat Green he could have gone on to stardom at Super Middle and been amongst the best in the world despite his loss to Kessler. Dont bring Green into, their accomplishments since, and what they have done fo boxing in this country since do not compare....regardless of the Briggs fiasco.boxheadtrinidad wrote:its got nothin to do with green, colin this jealousy n hatred started when green came on da scene. im over green just as much as i am over mundine, imo green n mundine should never of fought, a win 4 mundine n people were gonna hate him even more anyway...were just not gonna here the end of it are we, "Oh Danny was Too Light"..."Oh they should of fought at cruiser" get the F**k over it.colin russell wrote:Boxhead its got nothing to do with Green Mundine with all his talent just does not fight as he said the best. look maybe its just me but im over Mundine, once l thought he was good for the sport but not now. I thought Kessler was the Super Champ when Mundine won the Regular belt the second time.Marlin wrote:Yep.thunderfromdownunder wrote:im pretty sure he was the regular champ both times. ottke was the super champ during his first reign and i think calzaghe was when he won it the second timeMark pawsey wrote:I know he didnt take the title from the champ, but he was full WBA super middle weight champ, so he is a one weight world champ, Green had the proper WBA light heavy weight title so he's a one weight world champ aswell. Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
I think Kessler won the title again after Mundine stepped down, having earlier lost his Super title to Calzaghe.
Re: Anthony the Interim Title man Mundine
Pretty sure that Kessler was at one time without a title during anthony's SMW reign and when the WBA said Kessler was his mandatory Anthony decided he wanted to shock the world and win a title in a lower division.
Anyway that's what my remaining brain cells tell me.
