allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
Re: allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
Wow! What a fight that was! A dream opening night for allegedly with that cracker. Credit to both men, especially to Walsh for coming back from a heavy knockdown.
Re: allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
How he got up from that knockdown is incredible, I thought he was gone for all money. He came across as a topman after aswell very humble.TheCobra wrote:Wow! What a fight that was! Fantastic fight, didn't think Walsh would turn that around but he dug deep and did the job. Fair play to both fighters

Bollocks, I've just read your posts & realise I've walked out of a cracker. I just boxed peter mcdonnagh on the show, the place was like an oven so left after watching billy Morgan . Liam stands out for me as one of the best I boxed , great fighter. Top lad. By the way , the show was brilliant, they looked after us, & franks boys came across really well. I really hope the new channel and queensberry promotions does well.

They have mis-interpreted applebys comments i think, he said the ref saved walsh and tbey have checked the refs count. Im sure appleby is talking about the ref sendin walsh to the corner to have his wrap fixed whilst he was all over the place. An ideal time to clear the head.
Richard Keys has a lot 2 learn aswell.

It was a terrific fight, neither wanted to lose in front of their fans, but Walsh showed unbelievable guts to turn things around there, he looked one punch away from defeat several times.
Enzo proved an excellent commentator, so relaxed about it, and seemed under no pressure to say what he thought his co commentator wanted to hear ( like others ) keep Enzo on board
No more Duke. Please.

Yep.... no Duke McKenzie please.
I'll definitely be subscribing, hopefully this can lead to Primetime disappearing..... BN's production last night was easily better than the rubbish we've had to pay £15 for every fight.
Congrats on a successful debut!!

While the presentation left a lot to be desired, I thought Bunce and Keys smashed it last night

Great fight! Gutted to see Appelby lose but Walsh has gone up so much in my estimations! True gentleman and a hell of a battler

The team at allegedly are happy that the first show went well and that you enjoyed the first ever presentation and what an unbelievable fight to open the show with - already a favourite for fight of the year!
We will be looking to come on here regularly with schedule updates and news regarding forthcoming allegedly events.
Of course, we will also be open to any constructive suggestions and look to answer any questions you have.
Don't forget tonight we have a cracking live fight from Germany between IBF World Cruiserweight Champion Steve Cunningham and Pablo Hernandez
Thanks,
BN Team
Ye Great first show, its nice to see some of the undercard, hope you continue to show some undercard fights, you always get some belters that don`t get shown, but good well impressed so far.
Re: allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
Fantastic fight and a good start for allegedly, but being honest I would have preferred that fight to be on Sky where I know the picture won't cut out - I don't know if mine was worst than others, but it just spoilt it big style - it was going off every minute or so.
I'm not sure why people were so positively surprised with the presentation and package.... Franks been in this game long enough and it is a very experienced team of broadcasters (Enzo aside). We knew exactly what Keys, Bunce and Rawling were bringing to the table.... got to get the picture sorted though.
The surprising element, and a positive surprise, was Mike Goodhall doing the MC'ing... that brought back some old TV memories.
For me, we knew what we were going to get regarding the presenters and we knew the main event always looked a good one on paper (and it turned out to be). The thing we didn't know about was going to the production of the TV show.... and that for me is what let it down.
I would still say Murray vs Mitchell is the fight of the year favourite for me.

Re: allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
Sky Sports have been banging away for over 20 years to get their formula right. Does anyone expect allegedly to replicate that over night. I think it's an unrealistic measuring stick.
I thought it was brilliant to be honest.
The lighting was a little iffy and I counted the screen cutting out about 12 times but never for more than a second so it never really bothered me.
Overall it was a roaring success and has pushed me toward subscribing.

No Jim Watt should be a sales angle for them.
Enzo Macc, I tell you what, he was very good. He was relaxed, added a few technical comments, had a few witty things to say and generally was as excited as the audience.
I couldn't help but feel Watt would have been so horrifically critical of Walsh vs Appleby he would have coloured the action in a real bad light.

Maybe - but I like Jim Watt - he's an excellent pundit and maybe a bit over critical but I would say thats a good thing because the rest of the Sky guys usually gloss over any problems.G0mez wrote:No Jim Watt should be a sales angle for them.

Didnt think Enzo was that great last night - but its good to see someone new and im sure in time he'll get better.
Re: allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
Still will struggle to get casual fans to subscribe. That was good fight always going to be but there few dodgy shows in October. No virgin until later in the year why was this advertised at the launch of the channel then?
Re: allegedly 456 - thoughts ?
I'd prefer it if they got their facts straight and didn't try and dupe the soon to be paying public.
They are announcing Cunningham v Hernandez as for the WBA and IBF titles. Not sure how it can be when Guillermo Jones is the WBA champ. Also still insisting that they are showing Huck v Wlod (intruiging fight) rather than Huck v Rossi (straightforward, risk free defence).
Coverage really suffers by comparison with Sky for the lack of HD, it's like watching something filmed on a camcorder. Not overly fussed by Enzo as a pundit - he was no better or worse than most of the Sky chaps. One worry is that the co-commentary position will always be taken up by a Warren Yes Man and so be less inclined to criticise the house fighters. Also, I like Steve Bunce as a journalist and as a radio presenter but he seems to get too excited when unleashed in a live setting. I know that view is at odds with most posters here, but it's my personal taste!
And perhaps someone could explain something to me about advertising? Whenever I watch a FWP (or Queensbury Proms) fight, the only advertising in the ring is for the Promotional group and the TV company broadcasting the fight. I'm sure when I watch fights around the world, this space is taken up to some extent by adverts, no doubt paid for - Is there some restriction in this country over in ring advertising - it seems an unnecessary way to limit your potential revenue as a promotional group - I really don't need to be reminded who the fight I am already watching is being promoted by and which channel it is on.

Would have been a good idea to put a statement up on your website about it instead of disappearing and reappearing logos.allegedly wrote:Hi,Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:A fairly easy one to answer would be whats happening with virgin?? a lot of interest in the channel generally and after the initial announcement regarding the outlets for allegedly, its gone very very quiet...allegedly wrote:Hi all,

allegedly are in talks with Virgin and BT Vision at the moment and we expect to be up on both platforms by the end of the year.
Thanks
What about the stream on your website? I take it seeing as that has now been removed that you won't be streaming either?
