Post by slapbangwhallop »

it think he said in his post fight interview "that one was for all the haters on BoxRec.................you look a little silly now guys!"

:box:

(edited for the sake of diplomacy - p.s. its a joke AKA not to be taken serious)

I think Andy Lee has become a much better boxer since I learned he was born in London, quite frankly.

I very much doubt it, I think slap is just making a point.

Barker was much more impressive. Martinez is a fighter of true pedigree and quality, Brian Vera is a plum.

Barker would UD Lee.

Yep, it's a fight I think we should see. I dare say one of the alphabets would be prepared tomake it an eliminator as well, after tonight, which might actually help it get made.

I'd fancy Barker, Lee hasn't shown me that he could pressure Barker enough to beat him. I hope it happens.
Would be a good fight as I think it's a genuine 50/50.

Had a chat with the thread starter and wile not agreeing with sentiments of thread. Not something to bicker about on here. And perhaps this conversation would have been better conducted overa drink rather than the net :D

Why fight Barker???
Lee is straight through to world title fight whether it is Martinez Chavez or whoever,he has proved last night that he is one of the best at Middleweight and fighting a lowly ranked Boxer like Barker would do nothing for Lee!!!

Lee is a better boxer than Barker.

Jim Watt on Lee was the most positive I've heard him speak about a UK/Irish fighters performance in a long time.

But it wasn't really a masterclass though he beat a very limited fighter in Vera.

I really enjoyed Andy Lee and Darren Barker's efforts last night.

My apologies for liking both men. I wasn't aware there was a Blur vs Oasis type rivalry going where you couldn't like either party.

For the record it's easy to look a million peso fighting Scunthorpe Utd, it's when your a minnow and still break the nose of a prime Barcelona during a defeat, that commands my respect.

Lee looked great last night, but now let's see it against a man who counts.

Lee boxed beautifully last night and his defense has improved from his last outing against McEwan. I never thought I'd see the day he would be rolling his waist and shoulders to avoid being hit so hopefully he can keep that up. I have to say - Vera has a rock solid chin, Lee was landing flush throughout and he didn't budge. That Vera defeat created a lot of demons and dented his confidence big time so he can move on now. Lee vs. Barker or Macklin next please.

Vera has fought and beaten better than Barker ever has.
