Vera has fought and beaten better than Barker ever has.
Too right, for yiddy to say Vera was average and Lee not masterclass beggers belief---Ye mightn't like him,but we know we now have one of the best middleweights in the world!!!

Anyway, this thread still stands as a big "eff you" to all the "knowledgeable posters" on here that have slated Lee as a 'bum' since his defeat to Vera. Lee couldnt be a nicer fella, hard worker, loves boxing, not afraid to face the man that stopped him previous and a very talented boxer with power but was written off by a lot of people on here - exclusively British guy - but of course they wouldnt be nationalistic in coming to their opinion - thats only for other nations.
You'd swear he'd just won the world title. He hammered a journeyman, that's all.
Lee's better than he was given credit for on here in the past, but dominating Vera doesn't make him a world champion in waiting, much as I'd love to see him win it.

Barker would hammer Vera, it certaintly wouldn't take two goes. Do you honestly think Lee would start favourite against Barker? I'd love you to own a bookies. Lee hasn't fought Murray or Macklin and neither has Barker, but he will. Lee won't - he'll run away from the British middleweight scene. It's in his best interest too. All 3 will beat him.

 I really hope you dont actually believe all that!

See the facts dont bare that true.

Macklin vacated the EBU and Barker was to fight for the vacant title. Lee said he wanted the fight but he was never offered the fight, instead Barker or at least Barkers team went for Affif Belgacham who was coming of the back near whitewash to Lee.

So much for Lee being the one in the running spikes eh!!

It's a great division at the moment. But Lee is only 4th in the British ratings to talk about him on the world scene is ridiculous.

Forgot about him. Where are you getting these rankings from?

As for talking about him on the world scene, wasn't he on the undercard last night as a possible future fight with Martinez?
They would be mad to let Lee near Martinez.

Lee boxed well against Vera am I also allowed to say Barker boxed well in losing against the MW# 1 or would that be a conflict of interest.

The division is absolutely buzzing at the minute with some real potential cracking fights, I just hope they happen. Martinez-Macklin with Lee-Barker as chief support would surely interest HBO and many punters.

lee looked good last night but Vera is a one paced pug..not a masterclasss, but a good solid win. what i dont get tho, is why all these so called Irish fighters dont live and fight in Ireland. if they stayed there surely they would make ireland a hub for boxing..bringing in more money for the country. support your country that way rather than pissing off to uk/usa and having an irish flag sticthed to your trunks

Simple economics mate. 3m skint fuckers in Ireland and shite gym and no more TV support OR go to American where there is loads TV money, good gyms, sparring, weather and 36m of the feckers that self-identify as Irish. No brainer.
