Simple economics mate. 3m skint fuckers in Ireland and shite gym and no more TV support OR go to American where there is loads TV money, good gyms, sparring, weather and 36m of the feckers that self-identify as Irish. No brainer.
fair do's...those plastic irish in the USA make me laugh, wasnt it micky ward who had the nickname irish, yet he didnt have any irish in him..he was about as irish as jack charlton's world cup 94 team..just used it as a marketing tool..

Leonard, is it true that you live in England?
I do, Manchester - and love it.

Have a new son born here last year and I am already bringing him up to be Irish - and so the cycle beings again!

I wouldn't call it a masterclass either, but it was a good performance that will redound to Lee's credit. It's almost always a good thing for a fighter to avenge a loss, and with Vera behind him and a solid win over McEwan, Lee is now ready to take another step up.

I'm glad Lee has proved many people wrong with his devastating win over the world class Vera. Finally now people will list Lee with the "so called" greats: Robinson, Greb, Monzon, Hagler, Lee.

Pah and to think Barker couldn't even beat Martinez, how wrong were all you muppets hey.

Right a couple of things. The thread is obviously a Wind up but some of the posters on here do need to eat a nice slice of humble pie. Lee's performance tonight was excellent and he needs to applauded for going after the only defeat against him (unlike certain boxers). Why is there a sudden Lee vs Barker rivalry on this board. Barker had his shot at Martinez and made a very good fist of it. I dont get why people would now begrudge Lee his shot at martinez. To be honest i think there is a far bigger Market for Macklin vs Barker than Lee vs Barker. I reckon Lee will get his shot at Martinez on Saturday March 17th in MSG.
