Buncey wrote:Well done the Telegraph my arse...where were they at this year's ABA championships or last year's event?
allegedly is showing the fights from Baku for free and on Saturday it looks like Richie Woodhall will join me in the studio for the finals. Woodhall has been at four Olympics, I've been at five; Woodhall has been at two World Championships, I've been at four; Woodhall works with these fighters in Sheffield.
Credit where credit is due and praising the Telegraph is just wrong.
Adios.
Why do they need to have been involved in the ABAs to broadcast the World Champs?
The Telegraph link up has allowed me and others to watch the action live when some of us couldn't get it anywhere else. So, again, well done to them.
Well done to the telegraph. Get off your high horse Buncey. You're only sticking up for allegedly as they gave you a job.
I'll praise allegedly when they get the channel on Virgin. I believe Virgin has over 2 million subscribers that are failing to see the benefit of this channel. FW has had long enough to sort it out. Its a joke.
It would be nice if a national paper receiving praise on a respected boxing website had even a passing interest in the sport. If you can't see that connection then I'm surprised.

Can you explain your comments in calling Negus a great just in case they are taken out of context?

Maybe this is the start of them showing an interest? Surely we shouldn't be mocking something for doing something a little different? It shouldn't matter about the back ground.
If it mattered, allegedly could be slated for appointing keys as the lead presenter when he has no boxing back ground. Just saying
Josh,
allegedly was slated for hiring Keys!
It's fantastic that the Daily Telegraph (who by the way sent me to three world championships and a European championship to cover amateur boxing) is showing an active interest.
My complaint was that the Telegraph was singled out.

But they were singled out because they have a live link to the bouts which is fantastic for amateur boxing fans. They weren't singled out as the saviours of boxing.

Exactly this.
This isn't an assault against you, you're just sticking up for the brand that has empoyed you, it's kind of expected

Dear me...
Yesterday afternoon, most people won't have been able to watch allegedly. But many might have been able to grab a look at a web feed, which The Telegraph (to whom I have no allegiance and am diametrically opposed to politically) provided.
Hardly anyone knew about this, I let a few people know and said well done to them for the service. That's it.

Buncey needs to chill out. As a fan I am grateful for any boxing, but the big mans always got the hump with something if he's not involved.
I like the guy, I put my hand in my pocket (and paid for a friend) to see him when he was doing the Bunce Live tour a few years back. I email his show (never get a reply) but I don't slate the dude.
It does annoy me though the old "I've been to so and so many worlds and olympics" which is great but don't begrudge people who are trying to support the sport too.
A quick scan of the Telegraph website shows their are indeed 5,560 boxing articles.
Most of which put there by Gareth Davies, who does a sterling job. I cant see how he can be criticised, as ultimately he is boxing for the Telegraph. How does that compare with a satellite TV channel that's been operating a few weeks ?
Ultimately the coverage is provided via GBsport.tv so nobody can take credit.

Luke Cambell could very well take the gold at bantam.
Luke Cambell boxing Ireland's John Joe Nevin in the Semi's,I don't know how many times these Guys have fought each other but seem to remember Nevin winning a shut out points win against Cambell last time out.
Anybody know the history with these 2 ? Going on the last verdict i remember,I'm predicting JJ Nevin to be victorious.

I dont know the previous results, but a fully focused Campbell will beat anyone in this tournament, minus bad scoring

Doesn't matter if there is bad scoring it can be overturned apparently - just ask Lomachenko!

Have to disagree, i like Buncey when he talks this way so hope he keeps it up. It'd be terrible for this forum if Buncey and all the other Boxing fraternity who post on Boxrec felt they couldn't talk frankly or express their honest opinions on here which would make for a very sterile site.
Keep up the great work Buncey and say it as you feel, you don't need to defend yourself.

I'm all for talking freely, and not sucking up to people just because they post on here etc etc. BUT Buncey always takes it personally, dude just needs to lighten up a bit. He'd be smashing into allegedly if they didnt give him a role.

er....naw!!
JJ beat him at the EU semis. I doubt he is overly worried about facing him again. Should be a good close fight but I think Nevin has benefited a lot from the WSB
It was possibly a strong response. But, I assure you that I'm constantly light, honest!
McCracken, Fearon, Warren, Cowap, Brook, Boddy and a few others on BBC London at 8pm tonight.
Adios.
