Haye's birthday is on Thursday and he has always said he'd retire. I know there was some talk of a fight with Vitali. Does anyone have any inside info or scandalous gossip?

I understand he was offered a part on "Strictly Come Dancing" but his toe is still giving him grief hence why Audley stepped in

He's one of the best fighters in Britain today, surely as boxing fans, we should support the best fighters we have.

At CW perhaps. At HW he's horrible to watch and will always fall short against the top guys. What's to support?

He's the best heavyweight in Britain and that sir, is a fact.

It's not a fact. It's an opinion based on fights against over-the-hill B'/C' list opposition like Valuev, Ruiz and Audley.

He may well be better than Fury, but I know who I'd rather watch/support.

Haye will not retire, but I doubt we'll see him in action again until early summer 2012.

I have a feeling Haye-Vitali won't be easy to negotiate, because Haye will be demanding too much.

I doubt it will happen. Haye will likely demand more than Vitali is willing to offer.

I doubt it would even be that big a fight after the fight with Wlad, what TV companies are going to be willing to risk throwing money at it.

The only reason I can see it happening, is if Vitali wants to put a beating on him and is willing to acquiesce to Haye's monetary demand.

I'm pretty sure that Haye will not take the fight unless it is lucrative enough, otherwise he will probably retire. He's already got to be a millionaire a few times over.

Just watched a video of Vitali against Sanders, and what I was pretty surprised by, is just how quick Vitali is for a big man. His punch technique looks very sloppy because he arm punches, but it also allows him to throw a lot of shots in quick succession, it's one of the things that makes him so hard to beat. His chin isn't easily reached, and his hands are always close to his opponent because he carries his arms well forward of his body.

History probably won't be that kind to Vitali, and the paucity of talent in the division will hamper his resume, but really, he's a very very effective heavyweight.

I used to depise watching both brothers, but over the years, I've come to admire their dedication, professionalism and success, I think they deserve some props.
