FLOYD PATTERSON, PEOPLE'S CHAMPION

Post by Zelley »

MY TRIBUTE TO FLOYD

It was shortly after his death when I wrote the following:

"... we gather up all of the tributes, measure them, weight them, and only then
can we ring the opening bell to measure the true greatness of FLOYD PATTERSON.
Thanks Floyd for all that you have done. You are a
true people's champion in boxing and life."

THE FOLLOW-UP
When it comes time for top ten heavyweight lists, or top ten p4p lists
or some effort to pick the top 50 or 100. When it comes time to recognize Floyd,
none of those lists are important, Floyd is on top of his own list of Class acts
in boxing and community.

No one in sports ever had a bad word to say about Floyd. One first class athlete in every way.
