He beat what was put in front of him, fair enough. But an all time great Heavyweight Champion would have needed a rematch to beat Rahman and McCall. Can you imagine a prime Larry Holmes losing to those guys.yid14 wrote:Come on Keith he got caught by a couple of great punches by two big men who he beat in re-matches, he did dominate the division for years.keithmoonhangover wrote:'Dominated'. Lewis dominated boxing's top division for a decade. He's easily the best British fighter of our generation.
Which area of the UK has produced the best boxers?

To tell you the truth I can't imagine Lewis losing to Micheal Spinks. I can't imagine Lewis losing to Holmes for that matter.keithmoonhangover wrote:He beat what was put in front of him, fair enough. Who do you rate higher? Lewis or Calzaghe?
Re: Which area of the UK has produced the best boxers?
Lewis wasn't in his prime when he fought McCall either.
Holmes lost to Michael Spinks twice. Foreman lost to Jimmy Young. Great fighters lose to inferior competion, especially at HW. It happened to Lewis twice during a 10-year dominance. He's the best.

Really liked Calzaghe, but would have to go for Lewis.

It's a close one for me, but I'd go for Calzaghe.yid14 wrote:Really liked Calzaghe, but would have to go for Lewis.
