Hagler probably dropped off his wheelbarrow at the bookies on a katsidis KO!

The odds for Katsidis to win by stoppage are very generous.

Wouldn't surprise me if someone has thought ''f**k it'' and shoved a few grand on.

As tough as Burns undoubtedly is, he was hurt several times by Martinez, who I wouldn't think hits as hard as Katsidis, nor is he anywhere near as skilled. That said, apart from the first round, from memory, Ricky was mainly hurt when he was trying to get Martinez out of there, me and a mate were shouting at the telly saying ''run.... run.... run....''.

Obviously a TKO12 would have been better than a UD, but if he starts trying that with Katsidis he'll made to pay.

Think Katsdis will hit harder than Carl Johansson did who had Burns down hree times. Only one winner here. Why was this fight not in Scotland?

I know Carl hits hard. Apart from Martinez win where burns was very goodbye last 3 fights have not given me any indicators he beat katsdis even though he be in tough fights.

mickey- carl hits hard, but one thing Katsidis does better IMO is bully and physically cut the ring off better. he'll make the ring very small for Burns IMO and crowd him in a way I haven't seen Carl do.

I wouldn't read too much into Katsidis and his recent form.

There's no fighter in the world below 140 that would beat Marquez, and Guerrero was probably the worst match out there for him stylewise.

Aside from being in some pretty tough fights I think he's improving technically, and will carry a size and strength advantage in this fight. Plus, it's not really a trip into the lion's den for him either, he's fought here twice before and has said he loves the British fans.

To be honest I'm surprised that no British promoter has taken a punt on him, he'd sell with his all action style and there being a sizeable ex-pat community.

Burns is a tough, gritty little fornicator but this is a step into genuine top 10 class at a higher weight, against a much harder style than he's been facing in his last three fights. Had he faced someone with a pulse in the interim you could give him half a chance in this one and find valid reasons for doing so.

As it is, he's beaten one decent fighter, over a year ago now and nothing since.

Edit - Katsidis isn't a technically supreme boxer, but he's easily more skilled than Martinez. He puts his punches together fairly well, especially his left hook that he sets up off his jab, and throws a decent right hand at short range, though it sucks bad from distance. Burns doesn't punch hard enough to get his respect, something which could be key here.

One also has to bear in mind that the Gambling Commission was informed by bookmakers about suspicious betting patterns about Ricky Burns' blowout of Nicky Cook...wouldn't blame them if they were careful.

Cook, Lareya and Evenson fights before Katsdis don't feel me with confidence for Burns. Also it not be in Scotland either Burns won't have a big vocal crowd behind him.

I agree, mate. Just seen Carl in gyms around Leeds for years and he can bang. Known him floor middles in sparring.

I think Katsidis will blow Ricky away. 2/1 was a great price.
