His opinions and values on restoring credibility to the sport were refreshing to hear.

I personally think those wonderful previews for BPN are better pieces and written by an apparently great looking guy aswell.

Hennessey said he doesn't like a high profile, doesn't promote 'meaningless' titles and doesn't get in pictures with fighters....

Double page interview, picture with a Boxer (Well Witter anyway) and numerous shite WBF baubles in Nottingham.......DOH

TV don't interview him not because he doesn't want it...it's because he sounds so thick and has nothing inteligent to say either.

asides from him getting Witter and froch in league with GBPromo's

what is it with everyone constantly blaming promoters?

its not their fault when boxers get injured pull out or contract talks break down.

cut them some slack it's far too easy to kick the shit out of the promoters all the time, when often things are beyond their control.

THERE IS MORE TO IT THAN JUST MAKING MATCHES.

Ah, the beautiful irony of the freedom of speech.

Yes, Hennessy's stable - to my knowledge - have been cumulatively involved in a grand total of five WBF title fights, the last one over a year ago and those days seem to have been left behind.

Last time I looked, your favourite promoter's cash cow had racked up 16 appearances in WBU fights on his own.

In the article, he explains why he doesn't like too much publicity. I thought he made plenty of worthy, intelligent observations.

Hennessy has in my opinion done very well to get where he is, considering he has only been around a short while.

The Hennessy cards I have attended have been well run, and great value for money, if anything, there are too many fights rather than too few, and there is no doubt that Hennessy fighters are generally going for real titles rather than the ubiquitous IBO, WBF, WBU titles which have proliferated the schedules of other promoters cards in recent years.

I can also say quite unequivocally, that in my dealings with the PR department at Hennessy, I have found their two guys cordial, affable, helpful, communicative and professional at all times. Something which I cannot say about the promotional staff of many other promoters PR people.

Considering that about 12 months ago, we were speculating about the imminent demise of Hennessy and the defection of his fighters, the fact he now got a deal for his guys with Golden boy is pretty good going.

Credit where it's due.

I give credit to the likes of Sports Network for delivering big fights for Williams, Hatton etc, and I do the same for Hennessy for providing good value cards, keeping in the game, and getting a TV deal for his figthers during a very difficult period.
