J wrote:one correction though Bubi you say he should fight second tier europeans such as Bonin and Herisisa.

he already bashed the shite out of hersisia dude to take the World Wildlife fund belt.
well, i said "at least". Hersisia and Bonin weren´t that bad like the guys he fights nowadays. Maybe Harrison is over his peak? I doubt he will beat guys like Vidoz who showed a lion´s heart and fought like hell without preparation and is now Euro Champ. I just don´t understand "the thing" with Harrison here. Best Brit is actually Sprott who will fight for the Euro title. Why are no threads here about him but 2 Harrison-threads per week? Is it still the hope he could be the next Lewis?

Wiggins and Davis would both beat Hersisia IMO. They're better opponents than he was. Just because they have more losses doesnt mean they are worse, Hersisia hasnt beaten anybody of note.

how is the best in britain sprott?

aud would deal with Sprott comfortably, you just hate Aud (in the same way you have an irrational hatred of Oscar and I do of Tim Henman) and you like sprott cos you have seen him fight and beat one of your guys. (cue koc jokes)

skelton stopped him in 11 and dominated him, sprott never deserved the decision vs williams neither.

as likeable as Mike is,
SPROTT IS NOT THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT FROM THESE ISLES.

No, I don´t hate Harrison, I hate the hype about him, really. That would go too far. When Sprott beats Vidoz he will be the Euro Champ and Britains #1. Maybe he would lose in an all Brit tournament but that´s not the point. Over the Euro Champ route you can get a serious contender. Look what Krasniqi did. Skelton is too old, Williams is over the hill. I just give Sprott respect.

British Olympic ring king Harrison aims to "Wigg" out

July 26, 2005
SAN JOSE, United States (AFP) - "Unbeaten British heavyweight Audley Harrison continues his march toward a title bid here on August 18 against American Robert Wiggins, promoters announced.

Harrison, Olympic champion in 2000, is 18-0 with 13 knockouts while Wiggins, 20-4 with one drawn and 12 knockouts, has never suffered a knockout loss.

"Robert Wiggins is a tough opponent and my intention is simply to be the first man to stop him within the distance," Harrison said.

"This fight is extremely important to my career as it will show people how and why I won an Olympic gold medal and show the rest of the world champions that I am the future of the heavyweight division.

"You can expect fireworks."

Wiggins lost decisions to US heavyweight title contenders Monte Barrett and DaVarryl Williamson, but fought the former on only four days' notice and broke the latter's jaw.

"My experience and guts will overwhelm Audley Harrison," Wiggins predicted. "He has yet to face anyone with my abilities and determination and the fight I plan to give him in the ring will be too much for him to handle."

Harrison - who was criticised in his first series of bouts in England following his Olympic victory because of the low quality of his opponents - has not fought since June 9 when he stopped American Robert Davis in the seventh round."

So let´s wait for the fireworks!!!!!!!!

I think Vitali, Ruiz, Byrd and Brewster are scared now.... :o

Worth a mention - don't ask how - Audrey is the highest placed Brit in the latest WBC rankings at #22. Skelton is next best at #35. Admittedly Sprott isn't in, but Vidoz is only #18 as EBU holder. So in the WBC's eyes at least Audrey is doing fine

Vidoz comes from nowhere and has to defend the title. Sprott needs of course the win of the EBU title. Harrisons ranking is increedibly good...for doing nothing...he must have an extra bonus or whatever :TU:

Yeah and Samm after beating Okhello (Independent ratings 90 odd) and Clay Bey (dunno where he is in the independent ratings) is fully deserving of now being in an eliminator.

Some random thoughts:

Anyone believing Wiggins is a better opponent than Terry Smith is judging on the boxrec record alone.

Saul Montana would've been a more difficult fight than Robert Davis (as would Billy Zumbrun).

A fight with Vidoz for the EBU title after Wiggins would be an interesting (but unlikely) next step.

Vidoz has to fight Michael Sprott next. The winner fights Cengiz Koc. Both fights take place in Germany, promoted by Mr. Sauerland. The EBU-train runs without Harrison. To get a good EBU-ranking there is actually Hoffmann left. A good test for Audleys KO ability

When Audley was fighting Hersisa and Bonin he got slated from all angles and people were saying that he should be fighting recognised names in the US, now he is fighting recognised names from the US (recognised names in the US anyway, which is unfortunately what counts) he is getting slated.

The conclusion that I have come to over the past 4-5 years it makes absolutely no difference what Audley does, as certain people are always saying that he should be further down the line than what he is.

Bubi goes on about the hype that surrounds Audley aggravates him, but yesterday he posted an article which categorically said that nobody gives a fornicate about Audley and that hes going nowhere!!!! Which one is it Bubi.

The fact is that Audley has had a couple of BIG injuries (the latest one at a critical time in his career) which have hampered his progress. Audley is now getting back into the grove after the layoff by taking on a couple of decent well known yanks before he makes the step up to top 20 fighters towards the end of this year beginning of next.

Patience is a virtue and as long as Audley is challenging for titles or in a position to challenge for a title by the middle of next year then I am happy :D

Bubi you will have to get a restraining order on me when Audley hammers Krasniqi or Sam

You cant be serious, Davis would beat Zumbrun easily.

Zumbrun is a club fighter, yes Davis has a few losses but he has fought at a far higher level just look at some of the guys who have beaten him - Mesi, Moorer, Whittaker.

Last year, jameswilson and J told rather same to me. we had discussions over weeks and they predicted for this year what you predict for next year.......a neverending story. though i don´t want to repeat myself again and again. i respect that you are a fan of him. If he could reach what Luan Krasniqi had, who is 2 years younger, then i will say in french: Chapeau!!!! But I don´t believe it.

Yeah Samm has to defend his belt against guys rated in the top40 I think, isnt it funny how these guys have popped into the top20 or so for a month while Samm defends against them and then they disappear from the ratings forever. I suppose u slag King off for manipulating the ratings.

I like yourself don't want to repeat myself again and again, but I'll say it one more time. Audley has been injured and because of this his career schedule has been piut back, by about 9-12 months
