Tonight's RBR.
Re: Tonight's RBR.
God that ring announcer really is the sh!ts, doing it for years and still sounds like he has no idea what he is doing. Makes numerous mistakes and even reading out the DeGale scores he calls it a unanimous decision. CLUELESS!
Re: Tonight's RBR.
That giuy only had 10 ko's and Degale was almost out of there.
He should stick at Euru level as said.. No doubt Frank will keep him away from punchers.
Stupid Jimmy Mac grinning like a prick.

Re: Tonight's RBR.
Really think it's time for a new trainer for Degale.
His natural gifts kept the worst at bay and bought him second chances he shouldn't require at this level if his potential was being fulfilled.
Oh, there we go, JM has just said he's happy with the performance...

Frankie W bigging up Smith, praying that he beats Groves
Re: Tonight's RBR.
I agree entirely. Jimmy Mc acted without the class and mentality needed for the Groves fight, and he was completely out thought and outclassed by Booth in the way he carried himself. He also sent DeGale in without much of a gameplan, and it doesn't look like they've done enough to work on their flaws.sendo wrote:DeGale does need a new trainer to step up another level. This was wafer thin against someone who was decent but certainly not world class.
Re: Tonight's RBR.
DeGale was far worse tonight than he was against Grove. He was much sharper against Groves. Bunce doesn't know his arse from his elbow.
Re: Tonight's RBR.
Be nice to see what the Mayweather camp could do with him. Tighten his defence and teach him to use his advantages.sendo wrote:DeGale does need a new trainer to step up another level. This was wafer thin against someone who was decent but certainly not world class.
Re: Tonight's RBR.
He certainly did. He's shite though, isn't he? In every single way possible.johnswan1 wrote:He said it was a majority decision.dve3333 wrote:God that ring announcer really is the sh!ts, doing it for years and still sounds like he has no idea what he is doing. Haha Bunce working hard to maintain his place as a Warren employee, very good!

Its all talk. Frank wantsd the Degale vs Groves rematch.
Re: Tonight's RBR.
I'm not the biggest Degale lover but he is not effing sh!t or needs to quit (or go to the states). Degale is too early in his career, despite what many thought after the Smith win, for world level. No need to rush back in with Groves, let that build. Keep at this level for 4-5 fights, then look at world level.
Groves must be impressed with allegedly tonight. I took his comments as pulling more for Smith than him there.

I wonder who'd win a game of Mastermind between Clev and Bellew.

Re: Tonight's RBR.
DeGale is a future world champ for sure, that was a hell of a tough fight for your 11th contest - real class showed through, despite his inexperience and being a sucker for the right hand at times - he'll get better though.
Not ready for Kessler of course, but FW will know that.

Your bang on there mate just rewound it! He is brutal tho such a lack of decent ring announcers out there, says it all when a pro like Goodall is still on the gojohnswan1 wrote:He said it was a majority decision.dve3333 wrote:God that ring announcer really is the sh!ts, doing it for years and still sounds like he has no idea what he is doing. Re: Tonight's RBR.
Yeah, FW really seems to dislike Groves. Seems weird as after the support Georgie picked up from the DeGale fight, Groves could be a massive money spinner for FW.Final round wrote:Frankie W bigging up Smith, praying that he beats Groves

Good luck to Bellew - I hope he can do it. I'm not sure if he will, but I hope he'll be willing to go out on his shield trying. Come on Tony, you're one of us and would be the first* ever Boxrec World Champion!

I don't think it requires much skill though in fairness. Most of the time they are reading off a piece of paper.dve3333 wrote:Your bang on there mate just rewound it! Re: Tonight's RBR.
Let's get it onnnnnnnnn
Re: Tonight's RBR.
I think that if he had shown any respect to Groves after he'd been beaten by him, then attitudes would be very different. Anyone who saw the after-fight press conference saw that DeGale was asked if he respected Groves and he did not say yes. Groves when asked a similar question said that he had always respected DeGale as a boxer.BIGMARK wrote:I think a few are being a bit harsh on Degale, we have to remember he has won British and Euro tiles in 12 fights, he came back off a huge loss to fight a live fighter. Tonight he want perfect but he won and showed some stones in doing it.

Re: Tonight's RBR.
Abraham is number 1 in the official ratings for the Ebu belt, although I have a feeling Sanavia may be the mandatory and Frank wont mind
the Italian for a first defence, he should be easy enough to get over.
Thought Degale did ok but clearly not going to be what he thought he might be but Euro Champ after a dozen fights is pretty good by anyones
measuring stick. He really does not need to be thinking about world titles for another 18 months or 2 years to be honest.
Couple of European defences then a 3 title fight against either Groves or Smith, if he wins a couple more defences and try to learn all the time.
He should not be wobbling against a man who does not seem by his record to posess great power, he also for me was too easy to hit.
Cannot fault his heart however and he dug deep several times.

They should make DetroitHxC the ring announcer.
Re: Tonight's RBR.
Degale will never be world class; the guy's too old already and his head isn't in the right place.
Dreadfull showing tonight against a guy with no power and who lasted 3 rds with an average new york fighter.
