Richard Keys

Post by Finch »

When old Hairy Hands was given the role of chief presenter on allegedly, I feared another horrible Sky style presenter; slimey, horrible and knows nothing about boxing, just like Dave Darts.

However, think he's done OK so far (apart from the odd interruption but this will improve). He clearly doesn't follow boxing and knows nothing about it, but unlike Dave Darts he doesn't try and bullshit like he knows his stuff, and Buncey knows he knows nothing and talks as such, and I respect that. So fair play Hairy Hands, I didn't think I'd say this, but you're an improvement on Dave Darts! :TU:

Still prefer Andy Kerr back with Buncy though!

Yeah, as you say re Buncey and Richard Keys' obvious lack of knowledge, it doesn't surprise me that he allows himself to be dominated.

If he tried to act clever, no doubt he'd find himself tied up quite quickly - in fact he'd be in sh1t straight away, though I know he'd probably respond well to that situation, seeing as he's worked with many pros over the years.

Yeah, that's excactly what I thought the approach would be, but it clearly isn't and that can only be good. It's what Dave Darts does well!

Don't know.

I'm not saying they wouldn't; just that Hairy Hands isn't as bad as I'd feared.

Keys has done this before and he was also okay doing the boxing for Sky. Indeed, in the early PPV days - he was brought in for the PPV's and Demspey was the Saturday fight night guy..... so Sky considered Keys the better presenter.

Not really sure of the surprise really.... Keys is a good presenter. I do think Rosenthal and Dempsey are better though.

It's working well With him and the 2 Steves

I agree, its working very well and the conversation they had regarding tony pace was excellent and was in fact what my brother and I were saying during the fight.

allegedly team are proving to me that you don't knock it till you've tried it. Why has it overrun though should be cleverly fight by now??

Plenty of fights tonight. Also, I like the team so far. Are they trying to appeal to the younger lads with their relaxed style? Working for me! Things don't always have to be done by the book. Keys is quite funny on Talksport. It is like the shackles are off since he left Sky.

Agree with this sentiment.

Has good chemistry with Bunce. Seems like a guy who's just getting into the sport, and is enjoying what he's seeing so far and is grateful to be back presenting on TV.

His quip about Steve Lillis looking like Liam Fox was class. Could hear all three of them cracking up even after the cameras had moved to the crowd!

Jim Rosenthal is in Middle East presenting the Rugby World Cup. He has been announced as the main presenter for allegedly, so I imagine that will still be the case.
