There were a lot of close rounds remember. Most fights these days have wide swings in the judges scores.

It was not how most of us would have scored it, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility to see how he got to that score.

I had it level going into the last with Cleverly just pipping it by winning the 12th.

Unless they bring in a fight to the finish, there will always be arguments over score cards. Maybe they should have 5 judges and diregard to the two widest scores?

I don't have a big issue with the scoring last night. Most of the rounds were close and you could find an argument either way. Whilst the scorecard looks like a wide margin, most of the rounds Parris gave Clev I'm sure he felt were close.

I felt Clev was a clear winner in a fight that had a lot of close rounds; you could therefore raise an argument why Bellew, on some experts' scorecards, was given the nod or even the draw.

What is also amazing is that the people watching round the world Often lambast a judge for a varying score in a close fight.

TV viewers score the fight based on the TV coverage, including multiple angles, instant and slow-mo replays, focus on the faces and responses on the fighters and can be influenced by the words of the commentators. A judge views it live from a completely different angle to the TV audience, has one angle and no replays.

There will be differences based on what a judge actually sees compared to what the TV audience sees.

Kenny Bayliss and Richard Steele are not judges, they only referee. But it does illustrate a good point. Maybe we should go to the US system of having independent judges.

It's even more amazing that a judge has only one view point for scoring a fight when there could be all manner of things going on while they view from the back.They should have access to another screen for different view points maybe just showing the broadcast if there is one and in an ideal world an easy replay system at their fingertips imo.
