im not sure who he sent away from the corner in the last minute of rd12 but it was pretty pathetic.

what he did in the first round was disgraceful no need to scream and shout pointing fingers in faces all he had to do was pull bellew to one side and tell him no more of that.

Would have to agree Burnsey, disgraceful might be too strong a word - but I think the pre fight build up got to him. I didn't really see what Bellew did that warranted such a stern warning.

I think Ritchie is a great ref, he just wanted to stamp his authority, it's the judging I am furious at! 5 rounds is a disgrace but what can I do??

I gave it my best and I'll Be back

You have shown you can mix it at the top level, I think you have plenty of lucrative fights ahead. Any thoughts on moving to cruiser?

why was it all officiated by are refs???i thought it could of gone either way.i thought you looked shatterd & deflated in the interview after & kind of accepted defeat.i thought you beat him to the punch & took his jab from him it was a see saw battle & the most even contest ive seen for a long time.

Absolutly suberb performance from Davies last night :TU: He set the fight out from the first round and made sure there was no bad play. He allowed that fight to go so well. WELL DONE

Shouting at Tony after 20 seconds was embarressing, and Clev probably deserved a point off at one point.

I don't agree.I think Davies did an excellent job granted he let a couple of low blows get passed around but it was an excellent fight and the ref let it flow as for bawling Tony out that was for going in with the head I thought.
Credit to both fighters but Bomber exceeded my expectations massively, very impressed.

i thought ritchie davies performance was good reminded me of another old bulldog roy francis.

great fight well done to both fighters -by stamping down on bellew using his head it meant that both fighters knew that it wouldnt be a foulfest and no one would be disqualified or lose points - was funny when he shouted at whoever it was in the 12th round in the corner maybe it was someone who wasnt a licensed second anyone know?

i scored it narrowly to cleverley though i wanted tony to win some very close rounds - would be great to see it again though i feel tony should step up to cruiserweight as it would suit his frame and skills

Richie had to take control very early or it would have not been the great fight it was, had he let the heads go in then a cut could have cost us a truely great all British title fight. Well done Richie

I thought Davies was superb. The demonstration in the first was clearly a pre-conceived tactic that, at the first time of any hint of naughtiness, he was going to give one fighter a proper b*llocking, whilst making sure that BOTH fighters knew who was in charge.

It seemed a heated atmosphere in the Echo Arena (according to some of the commentary) and there had been plenty of needle in the build up, so a strong ref who could let the fight flow without risking it degenerate into a foul-strewn spectacle was essential. As it was there were fouls from both sides, but none too damaging and the fight was allowed to flow with the in-fighting immediately (take note Mr Cortez). It turned into one of the best fights of the year and for that you have to acknowledge the role of the third man in the ring.

I think Richie is more interested in making a name for himself Got to be honest he over reacted in the first round and sending mark away from the corner in the last was pathetic Richie was a good ref But i,m affraid age catches up with us all Its about him not the fighters theses days He made it quiet clear he isnt a Bonmber fan

He shouldn't have gone crazy on Bellew in the first round, but overall he did a satisfactory job.

Davies gave a great performance. Stamped out the rough stuff early on after Bellew's head butt and we had a great fight afterwards. The difference between that and the pathetic likes of Mark Green or IJL, who are scared to even shout break. He reminds me of Harry Gibbs. Not in there to make friends, in there to do his job.

Bellew leaped in with the head within 20 seconds.

He got told in no uncertain terms. Davies was hilarious - a little fat man losing the plot throwing his arms everywhere. it wasn't hard to read his lips either - "I dont give a f*ck where we are il f*ck you out of this f*cking fight if you do that again. keep it f*cking clean or you will be out on your arse!!" lol

Maybe a little OTT, but Tony seems happy enough. I think Toney got the message after about 5 seconds, didn't need it to be a full blown rant lasting 25 secs, but that's being overly critical. A few low blows in there by both Nathan and Tony, not deliberate in my opinion. Both were keen to work the body.

I think we are being a little over sensitive. Good handling of a rough, tough fight. The scoring was a little puzzling, however. 3 rounds, well I might consider that plausible, barely, at a push, well not really, but 5 rounds? Dave Parris is not someone I consider 'dodgy' but his scoring was way off in this one.

Well all have off days and this was definitely one for him.

he did ok but in the last 20 seconds of the fight it was about to turn in to mayweather v ortiz davies was looking at the time keeper Bellew was walking about the ring waiting for the ref and clev hit him with a combo

The ref had called fight on before Nathan hit Bellew, the first and most important rule of boxing "Defend yourself at ALL times"

Well this comment surprises me Jane. I respect your access, exposure and greater wisdom here but I find it hard to accept.

I thought Richie intervened to quell any sillyness the first chance he got but let us not forget Tony really did throw his head in in that corner. The fight was left to ebb and flow after that with both fighters knowing where the line was.

The low blows were a bot of an issue and NC definitely deployed a couple on the blindside on purpose but I don't think any were spectacularly low.

It was a tremendous fight between two good guys and it was a healthy, honest conclusion. I had it closer but was listening to commentary, wasn't marking a card but did feel they gave TB one or two that were very easily either way. Cleverly tended to always be the busier for longer periods.

Bellew boxed really well, at times his double jab work was beautiful.

Great fight.
