I would either suggest Danny Mcintosh in a british title defence, gabriel campillo in IBF inter-continental and vacant IBO title shot or Eduard Gutknecht for the EBU.

Then defend a few times and go for another world title, easiest would be a rematch with the experience of 2-3 defences of a european title.

Bellew matched Cleverly last night, could have done with a few more fights at this level first just to get him acclimatised to this level

Can see him beat Cleverly.

Bellew is ALOT more marketable than boring Cleverly and good for boxing. Would be excellent if he wins a world title, his nearly there but needs a few more fights at a higher level to get accustomed

I'd like to get Tony's thoughts on whether he would want the lonsdale outright? because if he does, Mcintosh,Quigley and Fry are ideal defences. However he could view these as a big step back which he would have to take to win it outright. Then he could either face Tony Dodson for an IBO title or go for the EBU. Tony jeffires is another option. Finish off the hype job once and for all lol

I think this is an excellent post. If Bomber had had a few more fights at a higher level, the experience gained would have been enough to edge Cleverley imo. As it was it was very close.

Bomber dealt with the speed of Cleverley very well, used a great double jab and didn't load up on every punch trying to knock Cleverley out. It was a very mature performance from someone in their 17th fight. If Bellew can run the 5th best light heavy in the world that close, what is the point going back down to domestic level? He needs a 2-3 more fights at good euro level and then he'll be ready for another world title shot.

I also agree that Bellew has the personality, charisma and the ability to play the game to make a big noise in the sport. In a year's time i can really see him being a big name on the world stage.

As for Cleverley I'd love to see him against Dawson or especially Cloud. I think they would be winnable fights. Dawson has no fan base whatsoever and Gary Shaw has dealt with FW before so would probably come over for the right money. I think Cleverley could outbox Cloud no problem but is with Don King so that would probably be a deal breaker.

I'd also like to see Bellew fight Eduard Gutknecht for the EBU. Very winnable fight based on his performance vs Clev.....

Thats the fight he really should be aiming for, a good offer may get Gutknecht over and a performance from Bellew on a par with Saturday's effort would be far too
good for Eddy. Also a very makeable fight would be Murat, he is with Sauerland and with Frank now in bed with them so to speak, should not be a problem making the fight.

If Tony came through there it would place him firmly in the picture for another world title shot, Cloud and Dawson would be aiming a bit too high at present in my humble opinion, however a rematch with Cleverly or Shumenov are both emminently winnable fights.

I think it's a good tester - 'good fight, but would i shell out an extra tenner on top of what i already pay for it'.

I think that's a perfectly fair way of deciding how highly one values a fight.

Its not wrong to mention the PPV. I wanted to watch Chad vs B-hopflop but would I pay for it in addition to paying for sky? NO! These guys are not PPV fighters.
