Cleverley - Bellew : Which judge scored the fight 117-112 ??

Post by Quixall »

Sorry to make a thread about this, but i was wondering which guy scored it 117-112 ??

I just felt it was a ridiculous score card !!

Three rounds apart was the maximum you could go for, anything wider than that is a joke............

I think most people had the fight being very close and i don't think i'm far out in saying that had it been a split decision and a win for Bellew by a round, not many people would have complained. I had Cleverley by a round because i felt he shaded the 11th round and definately took the 12th round and was less ragged than Bellew in those middle rounds, but 117-112 was just way out. I am getting used to some judge getting it completely wrong and i wasn't dissapoined tonight. I just wonder whether someone actually says "wait a minute mate, how the fornicate did you get Cleverley by 5 rounds............"

Great fight though :TU:

Yep, it was Dave Parris (O'Connor had a decent card for once). I had it 115-114 Clev but could see a draw or a slightly wider win for Clev.

I'm not sure that referee's are best placed to give a scorecard, because they have other roles within the ring that they are concentrating on. I think it should be three judges at ringside who give the verdicts.

I can see most people scoring it 115-114 for cleverley, some a draw and a decent minority scoring for bellew, but five rounds is nonsense.

i thought it could of really gone either way. bellew was winning with the jab clearly scoring :!: i dont know what happened to it for the final 2rds which would of made him a clear winner. also bellew needs to get away from amateur coaches, fast hands being instructed grated on me especially in the last quarter :shame:

Just for the record, I think I won 6 rounds but with him being champion I thought I needed 8, it was close but not a robbery, I would just live an opportunity to go again but I don't have the power to demand that, I credit Nathan, he is a good champion and a good guy.

I feel I won 6 rounds and I think Parris is a disgrace!

I've watched the fight back 3 times now too ,I'm just devastated :(

I thought it was a great fight Tony and you did yourself proud, no doubt about that. After 10 rounds i thought you were perhaps shading the fight and it was very very close with a lot of people calling it by a round or two at the most. Parris's scorecard was a disgrace, simple as that, the guy must have been watching a different fight. I have a lot of respect for you Tony, you gave it your all and just came up a little short. Yes, your going to feel devastated, but you have proven that you have some good boxing skills and can compete at world level or the fringes of world level depending on how you rate Cleverley. I think you will get a re-match purely based on the excitement of the fight and you deserve a re-match aswell. Respect and Hats off to you Tony :TU:

I think most people would say 115-114 :TU:

I would just like someone to stick a mic in Parris' face and ask him how he got it by 5 rounds !!!!

I know your gutted at the min Tony but you did yourself and fans proud last, very close fight, i thought it could of gone either way, thought Clev won that last round and thought that might of nicked it for him, no way did he win by 5. Tony get Frank to get you back on at the Echo the atmosphere was boss, and I think you`ll have even more fans after that, onwards and upwards Tony

Even when the competitivness of some of the rounds is taken into consideration, I can't see how Tony won fewer than 4 rounds overall. I don't therefore agree with the posters who believe that Parris' scorecard was feasible.

I think Bellew proved himself as the second best in Britain and a definite challenger at european and world levels.

I think he could give anyone a good fight.

What an obvious post. We all know that, the problem is how did he see NC land so many better punches. Did you? I certainly didn't and I have heard noone agree that NC won this by 5 rounds. So that'd where the shock and annoyance comes from. Simple really.
