As ive said before on here ...burns went in with graham earl when he was much younger and much lighter, when earl was still live, and he took the decision. he has continued to improve over the years to the point where he beat the world champ fair and square. Katsidis is tough , experienced and relentless, but is definately on the way down. I reckon burns will box him stupid and will be a clear points winner or maybe even a late stoppage

ive really enjoyed sparring ricky burns its been very very hard hes a very good fighter, hes been getting the better in all of our spars but ive been trying to use my strengh and really sticking it on him when i can but its been harder than it sounds, ricky is strong and hits you hard when your coming in mr katsidis is in for a tough night, its gunna be a hard fight for both but i really think ricky can win, granted ive never shared a ring with katsidis so i cant make a comparison but ricky has really impressed me and if he doesnt get nailed with anything big from katsidis i can see him doing a number on him, another thing ricky is super super fit so thats not gunna be a problem i really hope he can do it. also i just like to say a big thank you to billy nelson and his wife rita for letting me stay with them and looking after me 1st class :box:

I'm neutral in this fight, I like Burns but Katsidis is one of my favourites.

As someone else has said, Katsidis has a bit of a habit of steamrolling over European class fighters with ease, aside from the win over Martinez, Burns has been operating below Euro-level much to our collective frustration.

I'd have serious reservations about Katsidis being on the slide, sure he was beaten up and stopped by Marquez, but so has everybody else in recent times bar Mayweather and Pacquiao.... and Guerrero was his worst nightmare in terms of styles.

We saw against Martinez that Burns sometimes stayed in and was caught with wild shots, despite winning ''the boxing match'' with relative ease pretty much throughout. If he does that against Katsidis it'll be an ugly night for him against a harder, more accurate puncher that's a couple of levels ahead of Martinez in terms of skills.

Katsidis in the mid/late rounds for me, with Burns giving a really good account of himself. It's not a fight I'd have taken, there was by all accounts some pretty handsome wedge on the table to face the latest bit of American hype with a few tasty KO's against journeymen.

More money (probably) and an easier fight.... with equal praise (probably) for winning = WIN

Perhaps Allegedly is concerned about Ricky having his head turned..... :??

I hope Burns wins but I don't see him having the power to keep Katsidis off. I think it will be a great fight though.

People said that Mitchell was catching Katsidis at the right time as he was starting to slide and looked what happened there. I like Ricky but he isn't in the same league as any of the guys that have beaten Katsidis who, even if he is on the slide, would have to be halfway down it for Ricky to win. I mean this is a guy that had Marquez on his arse, not even Mayweather did that. If Katsidis does have Burns in big trouble at some point i don't think Ricky will have the power or the experience to ride out the storm. I would love for Ricky to win and i hope i'm wrong but for me it's Katsidis in 8.

I want to know what training Katsidis is doing - he still off to the far east to train like he always does?

Katsidis all action style is made for a short term boxing career. This could be the right time to get him - he has lost twice in 18 months to quality fighters but that will affect him.

Close fight and I'm not sure who'll win just yet.

This will be a hard fight for Ricky and probably his hardest to date but I really think Ricky has the skills to outbox Katsidis and possibly break his heart toward the end of the fight. Think this will go to points though with Ricky taking the win.

All the best Rickster.

Martinez put him down, Katsidis will kepp him down. He cant afford to get caught, if he catches/stuns/hurts you he wont stop attacking until the fight is stopped.

I think somebody will catch MK on the slide, but i dont think that man is Ricky Burns, and i dont think the time is now.

Katsidis will be too strong I reckon. Burns might outbox him, but will do well to keep Katsidis away for 12 rounds. There will be some fireworks that's for sure :TU:

If Kat hasn't slipped massively, he'll stop Burns, like he did Mitchell. One of two rounds of being out-boxed, but that punch, combined with that pressure, will be enough. Easy win I think.
