Is Audley Harrison becoming the peoples champ?!
Re: Is Audley Harrison becoming the peoples champ?!
Whenever you watch Audley you just want to jump into his body Quantum Leap style and throw punches for him. If each boxer was a vehicle, he would be one you would want to drive (hope that makes sense?).

I do want him to do well on Strictly.
Then again, I'd like Russell Grant to biatch-slap him too.

He's dancing with the girl I fancy, so I want him to get to the final. I never tire of that girl's mid-section.

It does actually. It's a bit like seeing an 65-year-old in a brown cardigan driving an Aston.MR T wrote:Whenever you watch Audley you just want to jump into his body Quantum Leap style and throw punches for him. Sad this is, when he throws punches in combinations he looks good. Or at least he did at the start-middle of his career. Lovely left uppercut.

The Goddess that dances with Aud. I don't want to sound like a sexist, but I'd give six-nowt anytime.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Who? Aud or Russell? Least sexual chemistry EVER - Russell Grant and his bird.keithmoonhangover wrote:Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:I do want him to do well on Strictly.

It's pretty creepy that not 20 minutes ago I watched the precise episode of Peep show that had that quote in it.Old bones Ian wrote:Aliona is worth watching Strictly for. She will be mine

Personally I fancy Aliona the most. Oh and that Flavia girl altho her fat dance partner, who is clearly trying to convince people of how happy he is with life but is blatantly gonna be found dead from an overdose in the next year, does my nut in.

Re: Is Audley Harrison becoming the peoples champ?!
The British public are pretty stupid - so yes, he probably could become a "peoples champion", even Jade Goody became popular at one point.
Re: Is Audley Harrison becoming the peoples champ?!
I dont see how claiming he is winning alot of fans is deluded, and i dont even talk about harrison that much. :PCaptain Hook wrote:We know you do, he's all you talk about, and 'no' is the answer. Was in bottom two on the first week, won't last much longer - the man is a joke.kingfinn wrote:Despite the critics and at times failures of Big Aud. He seems to be winning back and army of supporters.
Theres something us brits like about a man not willing to give up on his dream, he seems like a lovely bloke and does alot for charity. Selling the prizefighter trophy and donating the cash to sprotts family just shows how much heart the guys got.
Im starting to think from a lot of talk from non boxing fans that Audley may become the next peoples champ, he is still a massive name in england for boxing and is pulling in non sports fans from his dancing on tv. Does it really matter that the hardcore fans think he's under achieved? you dont have to win a title to become the peoples champ you just have to be trying and wouldnt it be a story if he managed to get a world title? that wba one looks like it may be up for grabs soon.
I for one support the big man and always have, i wait in anticipation for his return to the ring!
All 'hardcore' fans seem to be of the same view after his cowardly display v Haye. Landed a world title shot for doing very little, then failed to land anything else after that, bar one solitary jab having promised the earth.
One of most deluded posts I've read in a while, and by recent standards that's saying something
Re: Is Audley Harrison becoming the peoples champ?!
Maybe you should re read the original post and then look up what peoples champion means.Captain Hook wrote:I don't hate the guy but I honestly can't believe the Audley lovers on here physically sat through the three rounds vs Haye and came out with this opinion of him - they can't have watched it.
Or the farce vs Guinn, or many of his other mediocre offerings
This is a boxing forum, and many British boxers far more deserving than him never got to fight for a world title.
Fair play to him, he got the shot, promised to pretty much destroy David Haye and landed ONE PUNCH - the man has an Olympic gold medal and he could only muster that effort.
It's unforgivable.
I don't care if he pulls off a 10 in the tango next week, he's still a disgrace.
And Kingfinn is talking about him winning the WBA belt and being the 'peoples champ'
Do me a favour. Why so taken with him Kingfinn?
Champion = An ardent defender or supporter of a cause or another person. One who fights; a warrior.
(Historical Terms) (formerly) a warrior or knight who did battle for another
People = Self exlainatory i.e The people not just boxing nuts.
If people like him and want to see him do well he has the popularity and fanbase to become a peoples champion. Do you doubt he could sell out an arena at the moment?

Evander Holyfield has appeared on the British version he appeared in a charity special when the British took on the Americans from Dancing With The Stars so Karl is actually right on that front as I remember watching it, and I do remember seeing the odds for Joe Calzaghe because it was up on a poster in the window of the local Corals here in Woodbridge when I was out for a walk down the Throughfare (the main shopping street here in Woodbridge) and Floyd Mayweather was actually training for his fight with Ricky Hatton when appeared on Dancing With The Stars.jameswilson wrote:Nah you are mixing Evander Holyfield and Bruce Forsyth up mate.Karl Jade wrote:Holyfield actually appeared on the British version too.IRLangmaid25 wrote: Mate, he has been the only one over here who has done it prior to Audley Harrison, and I remember when Joe Calzaghe was announced that he was going to be on Strictly couple of years ago he was installed one of the favourites by Corals and they were offering 8/1 if my memory serves me correctly, although now that in the States Floyd Mayweather, Evander Holyfield and more recently Sugar Ray Leonard have done it, and Down Under both Anthony Mudine and Danny Green has done whose partner was Natalie Lowe whom Harrison has got now whom KeithMoonHangover really fancies, and just found on Wiki even on the Aussie version Kostya Tszyu has done it as well both of whom were runners up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_wi ... _series%29

On the Britain v America special he was partnered by Erin Boag aka Miss Whiplash (because she is quite tough on her celebrities on Strictly). Along with KeithMoonHangover Natalie Lowe is my favourite although Alona Vilani is starting to become a favourite too for me.jameswilson wrote:Ah ok I stand corrected. *Wilson slaps himself a few times* Wake up James!!!!IRLangmaid25 wrote:Evander Holyfield has appeared on the British version he appeared in a charity special when the British took on the Americans from Dancing With The Stars so Karl is actually right on that front as I remember watching it.jameswilson wrote: Nah you are mixing Evander Holyfield and Bruce Forsyth up mate.

Let's have a rota mate I have her one week, and you can enjoy her the following week mate, and I do agree with Karl about Audley Harrison considering the size of him he is doing very well.keithmoonhangover wrote:IRLangmaid25 wrote:On the Britain v America special he was partnered by Erin Boag aka Miss Whiplash (because she is quite tough on her celebrities on Strictly). He seems to be winning the Strictly judges around though. If they'd been at the Haye fight and he'd have lasted the 12 you never know what the result might have been

I think you're over estimating my opinion of Harrison i dont think for one second think he could fill the MEN but he could definatley fill a respectable size arena and he is probably the biggest draw TV wise in the UK and if not he is certainly the 2nd biggest draw.Captain Hook wrote:You think Harrison could sell out an arena? come on Kingfinn, I admire your loyalty to old aud but please!
