Not British boxing of course but on a world level Joan Guzman has always frustrated me. Saw him for the first time on a Sky undercard and he looked like he had it all. Just no discipline I suppose.

I think that Graham had inherent flaws that would cause him to lose to pretty much all the elite fighters of his day.

All he had to do was stick to the jab in the 4th against Jackson and he'd have been pulled out after that round.

The class of 2008 will all go into this category in years to come.

None of them will win ''genuine'' world titles IMO. To be honest I could do a better job managing their careers myself. By the time they're experienced enough they'll all be on the slide, don't forget three of those four are 26 or older. Hatton was arguably on the way down by then, Benitez was a danger to himself too.

Wouldn't surprise me if Frankie in particular flopped big time. I've met him and he's a really nice kid, but there are a few things affecting him, from his personal life, to inactivity and also his liking for a beer in the past, killing himself to make the weight in 2008. These things all catch up with you in the end.

I think Herol Graham would be in the top 20 British fighters of the last 30 years, there'll do well to emulate him. I think it's a little early to give up on all 4 of them though.

You could put him in a top 10, in my opinion.

He never really proved it against top quality opposition, but I'd take a close loss to Mike McCallum in a fight that he could have won, and then the Jackson fight which he should have won easily, plus being dominant at Brit & Euro level over any paper champion that won a vacant belt and went off cherrypicking.

Of British fighters in that time frame there probably isn't anyone with more natural ability, and only a couple with a better resume.

He's right up there, but it never quite came off for him.

Laing I'm not that sure about, really he wasn't much more than a lazy bum who just won one big fight and a few others..... without being disparaging of course.

Mugabi just ran into the best middleweight of all time and couldn't get the job done, unfortunately being ruined in the process.

i was just going to say him, i remember scott harrison was suppoosed to fight him, then a few years later, watched him win a title, sure it was against the argentinian lad barrios. the scorecard reads a close fight, but there were times guzman was allowing his opposition hit him in an act of pure showmanship. he looked hard as nails, never looked like the other guy could hurt him. i remember thinking harrison is probably better off being tampered with in the jail, than fighting this guy

for brittish fighters, naz springs to mind.
nothing to do with what he did in the ring, he was an excelent champ and there was no disgrace in his defeat to barrera. but he just gave up, could have done so much more.
