He had around 17 amateur fights, don't think they were at a high level. So he has learnt on the job as a pro

I saw him in the ams, he won his fight (semi finals of London aba's) with a ko. Looked tough but raw. To be fair to him, team solid was already a decent fan-base then. Thought he got a bit lucky last night though.

I think of all the terrible judges scorecards lately this was the worst, found it hard to give Williams anymore than 3 rounds. Certainly the most unworthy of champions but there won't be much of an uproar or a re-match coz Rob Norton is a stinker to watch. Doesn't make it right though.

im massively shocked :!: williams was a pretty poor boxer in the ams with only a dangerous left hook he'd telegraph.but well done to him for achieving this i never thought he'd be anymore then southern area level.
last time i saw him fight he got derailed badly by turbot is it??

I thought he lost comfortably last night.

Can't see there being a rematch, certainly not on telly anyway, but kinda feel for Norton not getting a Lonsdale for keeps as a result.

To be honest I don't think he'll last long as champion, a fighter with a solid workrate and decent footwork would take him.

He lost to Dickinson in Prizefighter, Rasani and stopped by Turba!

What an awful fight, sky+`d it an watched when i come in after a few pints, wish I`d stayed in the pub. Got to be the worst British title fight in quite a while. we all know tha Norton is poor to watch at the best of times, but Leon Williams was worse, he hardly threw a punch for the first 6 rounds, and I couldn`t give him a share of any of them, thought he may of won 3 or 4 of the last 6 rounds, no way he won that fight, then in the post fight interview Williams said he "put it on Norton"!!! Matty Askin should be screaming for a shot at Williams, a very undeserved British Champion in my eyes.

Worst British champion I can remember.

"I put it on Norton"

LOL

Not quite the way I saw it.

As much as Norton bores me, he should still be champ.

Dickinson deserves a shot, so arguably does Turba (can he fight for the British title??)

Askin and Dickinson are the 2 best Cruisers in the country by a long way
