The championships start on Monday in Rotterdam and will carry ranking points for next years sole Olympic qualification tournament.
As a result most of the top contenders will be competing.
I expect the draw to take place tomorrow

Three current or former world champions should be in opposition Katie Taylor and Sofia Ochigava from Russia are definite entrants and the powerful Turk Gulsum Tatar is expected to drop down from Welterweight.This is not a formality for Taylor as both of the other girls hold victories over her.However Taylor normally finds a way to win and the Irish flag may be raised

Russian Nadezda Torlopova has lost a lot of weight to make this class but seems to have retained her power and I think she will win.Swede Anna Laurell and Pole Lidia Fidura are the chief dangers.Savannah Marshall from England may be a lively contender.

In Tatars absence this weight is wide open but I will take a chance on Russian teenager Anastasia Belyakova who is stepping up in weight and has been selected by her country in front of a lot of big names.The Ukrainian selection will be the danger.

Nice to see four English girls getting medals.Nicola will be looking for gold as usual and Natasha defeating my tip for gold Belyakova shows she is in
good form.Savannah is a world championship silver medallist and as a result much is expected but I think this is Lisas first senior medal.
Two semi spots for Welsh girls as well following on from two male Olympic qualifiers.Success breeds success.
Anna Laurell and Shipra Engelke exit for Sweden but Helena Falk makes the last four and Katie looks good and should make the final.

Big win for Katie and she knew it throwing her hands up in celebration after the final bell.
The Russian girl didnt throw enough punches and couldnt get past Katies constant movement.
Nicola Adams trailed 0-2 after the first round and 3-4 after the second but stepped up the pace in the third and pulled away.Lynsey and Lisa were both very aggressive but were edged out by more experienced boxers
