I'd have been p1ssed off if I had a bet on him, He was British Champion, showed abit of a lack of heart there. Sure he was losing the fight every round but to just quit? Should be made to retire now. What do people think?

I don't really know what Booth would have done 10 years ago against Quigg to win that fight. To me it looked like a super fly v a feather.

Even at the weigh in Booth was wincing at Quiggs size.

He was 7-1 in rounds 7-9. Was about 2-1 for a stoppage win

quigg was too big and too strong, booth still has a future at the lower weights imo. i have enjoyed watching booth over the years, a classy boxer and no he did not quit tonight. i would like to see those who question his heart get in the ring and be constantly hit to head and body for 6 rounds...wankers

As the bell rang for the end of the round he tapped Quigg (who boxed brilliantly and came of age tonight) on the head, when he got back to his corner he was shaking his head, if he didn't quit then he didn't want to fight on.

I was actually pleased to see Booth acknowledge that there was nothing he could do at the end of the round. He probably could have boxed til the end, but he knew he was well down, and not capable of pulling it back.

I've really enjoyed watching Booth over the years, but i wouldn't have enjoyed watching the last few rounds if it had carried on. Well done to the corner, Maloney and most of all Booth for ending it early. Too Smooth doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.

I would never question Booths heart. He's been around too long to do that. He is a real Pro and I think he did well sticking around until the 7th. He did take some massive shots and Quigg was like a machine.

Also Frampton was right Quigg did look two divisions heavier in there. If Booth moves down, which he said he was going to do. I think he has got maybe 3 fights left in him. He didn't look really finished, just out gunned by a bigger, younger guy.

How can anybody say booth has lack of heart he was in there taking some big shots to the body by on the night a much bigger and heaver quigg booth shots were not fazzing quigg yeh booth prob could have gone the 12 rounds but why when he new he couldn't hurt quigg it was a sensibly thing for booth to do he should go down in weight and have a couple more and then think of retirement, and if he decides to retire well we have lost one of the best domestic boxers of our times he has entertained many of us over the years looking forward to hearing a final decision from him I know he did say last night he was going to goo down in weight

Your way off yid14 in my opinion. He was taking some big shots and his own shots were bouncing off quigg like water off a ducks back. Whatever happens from now I just want to say thank you Jason booth. Been a true champion and given me so many great nights of entertainment.

X3 and he has won a tough battle with the drink quigg is a tough kid he knew that and didnt swerve the challenge dont think his heart can be questioned may have to consider his future health and hang em up now before he becomes a stepping stone scalp .

I really don't get why everybody is so up in arms about my question? I wasn't talking about Booths career I was talking about the fight last night. At no stage was he woobled or knocked down. He didn't get his face busted up or even cut badly. He was losing the fight but it certainly wasn't a one-sided beat down. I mean look at the at the Haye-Wlad fight I could clearly see after six rounds he was going to lose that fight but atleast he fought to the end and he gave away 32lbs, Booth said after the bout last night 'he was too big for me' - he was a super Bantam, you've been a super bantam for 3 years had 5 British title fights at that weight, he made it sound like he went in against a middleweight. Booth didn't want the fight last night, He couldn't work out his opponent, his corner certainly couldn't so they quit - He didn't go out looking for the k.o (excuse me for wanting him to k.o Quigg or Quigg to k.o him - it's boxing.) With the way the judges have been lately if he'd have fought to the end he might even have got the decision. I just think it was the main event and for a british title - maybe he should have just shown a bit more heart I said it again and carried on. Sometimes I go to work and think I'm banging my head against a brick wall but I don't go home at lunchtime - because I get paid to work.
It's boxing though and he'll probably be lined up to fight Frampton and I would see the fight taking a similar course with Booth pulling out halfway through then you can all come on here and call me a tit,pudendum and wanker and go back to paying your sky subscriptions for for half a fight and only one guy up for it

I think it was a smart decision all round by Booth, his corner and promoter. He was getting worked over, Quigg was much bigger, Jason was tiring and he's not noted as a big puncher.

I was more disappointed when Paul Appelby 'quit' against Liam Walsh recently. No doubting the part Appleby played in a thrilling contest but it was still in the balance for me, despite Paul being floored. Walsh made a conscious decision to dig deep when the going got really tough, despite it appearing that he was heading for defeat when he was down and almost out. In contrast, Appleby couldn't muster up the same resolve with his career on the line. If ever a fight came down to 'heart', this was it.

I don't think that post is accurate. He was totally outclassed by Quigg who was very impressive. I think Quigg is going places after that result.

I would never question Booths fighting heart. He is very small at that weight.
