Is there a new opponent for Gavin next week?
Is there a new opponent for Gavin next week?
Hopefully Frankie can clear it up, boxrec have taken Horta off for the past week as the opponent on the 28th.
They just have it as a TBA - Any news Frankie, or are boxrec mistaken?
Interested to find out if anyone knows as its going to be live on allegedly.

Hopefully.
It was just another typical Allegedly ''can't punch but never been stopped'' opponent, meaning he was probably not very good or had seen better days.
They really need to get a move on with Frankie, otherwise he'll be past it before he's gone past domestic level.

People were claiming about the quality of Norton v Williams bill this one looks even worse!
Re: Is there a new opponent for Gavin next week?
It does look as bad to be honest, that will be the kind of stuff we will get in between the Bellew/Cleverly type fights I guess.leforge wrote:People were claiming about the quality of Norton v Williams bill this one looks even worse!
Everyweek can't be crackers but I do believe that perhaps the quality of opposition for his "coming through fighters" could be upped and thereby the
quality for the paying public would be better.
Hopefully we will get someone good in for Gavin but with utter silence over the past week of trying to find out who it is, its unlikely to be a live opponent which will
not do Frankie any good either.

Agree but should this sort of fight be headling a tv show!GLOBALBOX wrote:It does look as bad to be honest, that will be the kind of stuff we will get in between the Bellew/Cleverly type fights I guess.leforge wrote:People were claiming about the quality of Norton v Williams bill this one looks even worse!

LOL, I can't believe some people are so naive. These fights will soon be the norm on allegedly, with a decent scrap thrown in every month to 6 weeks. £120 per year is a lot, and for that I think we deserve good fights once a week, or at least every 2 weeks wit a stinking bill being the exception.
Of course, that will drive profits down. Expect these type of bills, lads. In 6 months, this forum will be raging at the quality of Frank's UK cards.
And what a shite bill last night - 3 of of the shittest fights I have seen.

They not able to produce UK fights of quality every week.Dioufy wrote:LOL, I can't believe some people are so naive. That type of bill will soon become the norm, with a decent bill every 6 weeks or so. You're point means nothing, as I never disputed it at all.leforge wrote:They not able to produce UK fights of quality every week.Dioufy wrote:LOL, I can't believe some people are so naive. Think its already part of the norm, Gavin bill next week few unannouced Friday bouts in December. Crolla v Limmond advertised but cannot see this happening.Dioufy wrote:That type of bill will soon become the norm, with a decent bill every 6 weeks or so. last nights bill was dogshit, but in fairness we knew that.
In the middle of the night they have Donaire on which is a coup though.

How many people will watch that fight in the middle of the night?
Only very few die hards! It's hardly a coup.

Gavin could be good as long as he curbs his socialising.
Re: Is there a new opponent for Gavin next week?
Anyone got any news on Gavin's opponent for this Friday, still nothing on boxrec and nothing from Frankie himself, was hoping to see the
bar raised because I think it will benefit him in the long run and even short term to be honest, a knock over or survival specialist is not
what he needs, he hardly needs to raise his natural ability, he has that in bucket loads, he just needs to start pushing himself now.
Come on Frankie, fill us in mate, who you fighting.

I meant that at least we can record it & watch it later. Not having it anywhere at all would be worse still.leforge wrote:How many people will watch that fight in the middle of the night?

I did quite a long interview with Frankie in the TKO Gym on Friday. It stretches out to 3 parts and includes clips of him sparring and working out in his new environment.
Two parts are already up and the third will go up today.

Cheers Frankie, glad its still Horta, he is not bad seen plenty of him over the years and he is rangy and tall as you say but he is not as elusive as a lotFrankie Gavin wrote:Still fighting frank haroche horta rated number 3 in France hasn't lost in 10 fights never stopped so don't think his that tbf had a few stoppages of late also
of southpaws and I don't think you will have too much trouble finiding him, never been stopped and been in with some decent Euro standard guys with perhaps Bundu
and Klose being the best, if memory serves he also gave Mark Thompson a tough night.
Will be a hard man to stop Frankie but I guess that has to be your aim, it would make a statement that you could generate enough power at Welterweight to prevent
people taking liberties with you as you rise up the levels.
Good luck mate
