Anthony Mundine's record WRONG!! Here are the corrections.

Post by Mundine »

Firstly, the fight against Timo Masua was not only for the PABA title, but it was for the PABA title AND the Vacant IBF Pan Pacific Title.

NB/ You have correctly put his next fight against Makata as him only defending his PABA title, not his IBF Pan Pacific Title, so don't change that. Similiarily, the Pompey fight was a non-title fight so no need to change that.

Therefore, Secondly, the fight against Sam Soliman was not for the Vancant IBF Pan Pacific Title but actually Mundine's first defence of the title. So just say it was for the IBF Pan Pacific Title (not Vacant). If you want to check this for comfirmation, watch the fight and when Mundine is announced the winner, the annoucer says AND STILL.

Thirdly, his fight against Soon Botes was for the PABA title AND also for the PAFBA (Pan African) belt (another WBA regional belt). I don't know if you actually have this belt. And he defended BOTH these two titles against Ricky Thornberry (in which he unified them with the WBA fedelatin belt, but you already have that).

NB/ I also think, for the sake of history, that you should change the little bit of info under the Ottke fight. I think you should say:

Ottke knocked Mundine out with a single punch after Mundine stated at the pre fight press conference "ottke hits like a woman". Ottke, himself, went down in round eight but was controversially called a slip in what was nevertheless a highly competitve fight.

What this does it tell the reader that it was a tough fight, and that there was controversy in the slip (whether or not you agree, MANY people believed it was a knockdown). Also, Mundine said he hit like a WOMAN and not like a GIRL.

I have been following his career from day one and I hope that you can make these changes. Thank you.

Added info: Mundine vs. Soliman. Australian Record book by John Hogg does not show Vacant.

That comment is not appropriate, IMO. The records are supposed to be impartial, and a comment like that is aimed at degrading Mundine.

Everything I have said has to been to "lift" Mundine so to speak.

I said that you should say in the Ottke fight that when Ottke was kncoked down in the eighth it was controversial cause it got called a slip when many people think it was a knockdown. I also think you should say that the fight was competitve, cause it was!! and wasn't expected to be after Mundine only had 10 pro bouts !!!

And are you going to make though corrections I made?? I am a bit of a perfectionist and I would like to see Mundine's record perfect.

Take the chip off your shoulder. I was referring to the comment in Mundine's record, not anything you said in your post.

You don't wanna mention as a little caption that

"Ottke went down in round eight but it was controversially called a slip, in what was nonetheless, a highly competitve fight." or something along those lines.

What this does is mention the fact that there was controversy, cause whether or not you agree with it or not, MANY people thought it was a legimate knockdown. That caption also shows that the fight was competitive when it wasn't supposed to be seeing as Mundine only had 10 fights and NO amateur career !!

As, I'm sure, would he. But then he shouldn't have let himself get starched by Svennie.
