I had always thought that maybe it was really Ron Stander
who was the real inspiration for ROCKY.
or if Stallone decided to make a period piece maybe Tony Galento?

I believe there was some litigation later on over Wepner/Rocky movie juxtaposition.
Chuck made some type of agreement for compensation and later wanted a different set up of some sort.

I like Chuck, however he was sort of in the right place at the right time. His second greatest claim to fame was being completely disassembled by Liston, and his greatest claim was stepping on Ali's foot...whilst in the midst of disassembly.
