I have noticed on boxing forums that whenever a boxer gets in trouble with the law, quite a few people automatically side with the boxer and either assume that he is innocent (just because he is a boxer?) or hope that they "get away with it".

x2. Taxi-ing aint the worst job either. As reguards a)not winning a world title, at least he had more than 1 chance to do so and b)Losing his house and doe to a bird, at least he earnt it in the 1st place. He has an absolute stellar career to look back on and should have no regrets, i just hope if found guilty we dont have the now tired line of how he struggled to cope with life after boxing etc.

Another one who is defo up there has to be michael brodie - by rights he shoulld have been champ after getting robbed in his home town.
Brodie was one of the most talented fighters this country has had over last few yerars, unfortunately one of the laziest too! n probably never achieved his potential. He was one of my fave fighters though.
Heard some sad news last week, he is currently remanded in jail, been told to expect 4 - 7 years, i know he has found retirement hard. Its a shame though cos everyone knows what a tough sport boxing is - he was arguably in the top 5 british fighters at one point but probably earnt less in his carer than the 500th best british footballer earns in a year
What about the hunter he must be rated up there for fighters that never won a world?

Interesting choice of crusade - at the time I thought it was a blatant robbery. I haven't watched it for years. A few things stick in my memory. One was the live interview old Jack Trickett gave during the fight when he said that "Mikey is boxing his fornicating head off". The other is that as I recall the punch stats were something like 230 to 140 in Brodie's favour and yet Mexican Ray Solis gave the fight 116-112 to the Mexican American fighter. I just don't think you can score that fight with that margin unless you go in with with a preset agenda. Solis was about 80 at the time as well wasn't he?
Jorrin also got a pretty shifty decision in his next fight against Larios.
Brodie was one of my favourite fighters too so sad to see whats happened to him. As I recall he made pretty decent money with the defences of his European title even before his world title shots so he earned pretty well but his personal life was always volatile. A real shame, he's got a massive heart.

Are you serious, that was no way a robbery. The most Brodie could of hoped for was a draw. I had Chi winning by 2 rounds.
