Martin Power V John Donnelly English title 19/11/11

Post by stevek3lly »

Just seen this advertised on the undercard to Price v McDermott which should be a very good support contest to the main event.

Very good fight for Martin to get himself back into title contention for me, although he will be fighting a home fighter.

Power UD for me, what do you think?

Martin will be the bigger man in this one and his come forward, aggressive style will cause trouble for Donnelly and a late stopage could be on the cards. Looking forward to seeing Martin at Super Fly, hopefully he can hit the weight properly and carry some power down. The division is pretty scarce domestically and European wise so he can make a big impact on the scene in my opinion.

Am doing the weight great at the mo training sparring everything is going good.., weighted 8.4lb 1/2 for Prize Fighter and felt really good, only a pound and 1/2 less to make the Super Fly weight limit..

Defo. Both like to mix it up and it'll be electric whilst it lasts (see Donnelly tiring and being stopped).

Martin, got to support the local kid but all the best with everything else. Proper warrior.

power was only around a pound over the limit for prizefighter :!: & a pound can be alot if it aint there but he's got it to lose or he could simply just shave his bush

seeing martin v hall & that gozzy scouser, he was so small but managed to rough them up early on & i fancied him to do pf on that basis as his am career showed how his strength got him far & i think at the new weight he gets it back. there is some miles on the clock but i fancy flower power to blossom here :!: :DD

Only seen him him a few times my self, i couldn't of picked a better opponent to box for the English Title, he's come forward style will allow me to get on my Boxing and show how i can make an impect at Super Fly. Im 31 but untill 2 years ago i didn't train proper and didnt run at all so i aint a burnt out 31 year old.. His fight against Bll is on Youtube worth a watch Bell let Donnelly look good that night.... Bells Corner put up a Better fight then Bell did him self :o :o Have a look and you'l see what i mean...

Donnelly is decent in most areas but far too brittle for power, think martin can look good here if he trains well and had the right attitude

Crazy wasnt it, Donnelly looked good in that fight but anyone can look good against someone that aint hitting back and dont want to be in there... I know Don will be more then up for it and styles makes fights and this looks to be alright...

Looking forward to seeing the odds for this one. I think/hope the bookies will have a decent price for a Power stoppage win.

Martin, have you ever backed yourself in a fight or is it frowned upon?
