I'm suprised the thread has gone on so long...............

I think it says a lot that people want to express an opinion on our forum and in the main it's all been positive :TU:

Can’t see why it wouldn’t be. Good mix of posters with a decent attitude, well moderated, and doesn’t go overboard on images etc. Could do with more traffic though.

It must be up to scratch. I often log on and then have a quick nosey at the list of other users browsing.
It's amazing how many Promotors / Managers etc are looking around withou necessarily posting anything.

Good point. It's obviously still relevant to a lot of those in the trade.

It`s a top forum in my opinion.

Living abroad means I only travel to the big fights (the rest I get on Sky, Premier sports, ESPN and now allegedly)

This is my only outlet to discuss the sport I love. None of my mates over here know a thing about boxing. There are some attention seekers on here and some people who like to stir things up, but in all it`s a great forum.

I much prefered it in the days when boxing took a back seat to more important discussions such as Test Match Special, gay builders, dogging, stories about Jimmy Greaves getting his cock out, and the role of David Payne in the disapearence of Madeline McCann.

I dont know why some people have to clutter up the place with all these boxing threads.

The only person who kept this place alive was David Payne, he deserves a knighthood for his services to boxing forums.

Nah, OBE at the most.

A nice place to post. No different to most others, in all honesty. Some very, very knowledgeable posters like Ezzard, some newer posters, full of enthusiasm for the 'new stars', bitter nostalgia freaks etc...All in all a good blend.

It can get a bit fruity, but which forum doesn't, from time to time :D

This forums ok, it lacks the depth of writing that the old dog pound had , however Dog Pound also used to come with have a ton of tolls and or spam and also some free spyware/malware virus's which wasnt good.

The British section of this forum is pretty good but the Current Scene is trully awfull.

So I want to know this,,.
WHY CAN'T WE DISCUSS US FIGHTS IN THE UK SECTION WITHOUT IT GETTING MOVED THE THE LOWBROW US SECTION?
I DONT WANT TO TALK BOXING WITH YANKS.

i've also noticed an influx of yanks starting to post on the british forum for the sole purpose of baiting or trolling.

But all in all there are some very knowledgeable posters on here and the tone is great.

I don`t post on here very much, because as you quite rightly say, some of the posters on here just want to give some people grief. Some are just downright personal with hidden agendas. However, there are some very, very knowledgable people on here who`s views I respect. Then again, there are others who wouldn`t know a left hook from a fish hook. As a referee I am there to be shot at, I understand that. But when I read some of the stuff put up on here, especially the spiteful stuff, I get a little peeved off. I am not allowed by the Board to discuss particular contests or individuals on here or anywhere in the media, and quite rightly so. However, I still enjoy reading what people have to say, however good or bad. Have a great week people, and will see you at ringside soon. That`s providing some of you actually ATTEND boxing shows!! I know lots of you do, but it`s normally the spiteful posters who haven`t. Correct? :TU:

It was joke, was trying to sneakily make Chambers realise that Hatton had more on the table :TU:

Or are you saying Witter was 'a popular, well recognised, legitimate champion who captured the imagination of TV viewers'!
At the time - I remember arguing with Chambers about the time South Korea had the all the light flyweight champions (The great Myuh Woo Yuh and Jung Koo Chang as well as Hi Sup Shin) back in 1987 and they never fought each other never mind tried to unify the titles
and Chambers was like 'who gives a eff'

I agree with the premise that Hatton could have fought him instead of midget man Bailey or Stephen Smith but hindsight and subsequent showings by Witter tells us that he would have probably been beaten by Hatton without too much drama. He wasn't the threat to Hatton that we (well me and some of us on here) thought he was.
 (Just got round to fully reading this thread, good thread)

You're lucky that I'm in a happier place these days, else you'd have just forced me into re-educating the forum on the number of viable opportunities Hatton had to fight Junior over the 10 year period (deep down everybody knows I'm right :DDD ).

The sad truth is, if I'm having a bad day (of which I've been having loads, due to prior working conditions) then the first person to annoy me with a dickhead comment gets it in the ear (maybe OTTly), but it's my self-imposed therapy. I had a fad of posting on the CS just because of the 'dickhead-comment selection' I had to choose from. I'd have been sectioned years ago without this outlet. I owe the Boxrec forums for the remainder of my sanity
