At least when people have submitted false records before, they generally take the time to make up opponents who were in the database, and made sure the dates they give, match with an exsisting show.

You did neither, and you ought to be ashamed of yourself, for posting this crap wherever you got it.

Further, Aug 6, 1971 & June 20, 1976 were Sundays.

Your dad had no pro boxing career that we can verify. We have people who have record books, magazines, newspapers, etc., and there is not anything on your father. I'm not going to enter a record, that you yourself admit is questionable. You can't even give me one opponent or date that matches an exsisting one in the database. For me that is a non-starter.

Don't feel bad, about being let down in this regard. Sons and grandsons make requests for records, or verification of stories they've heard, only to have them turn out to be false all the time. I've heard of people claiming dad was an amateur champion, fought some big name fighter, stuff that with a little research turns out to be completely false.

Like Matt says, it's nothing to feel bad about...unless your some cat that works for a certain organization, but things like this has happened quite a bit...I even read one time where someone's grandpa had been telling a fable for decades...as far as I know the story still is being repeated, but thing is...no one that I know has ever heard the story of Jack Dempsey being knocked out in an army exhibition match...did it happen, I don't know, but I would bet everything that I have that it didn't because something of that nature would have gotten a lot of press, at least in the boxing magazines. I don't know if Dempsey ever had any army exhibition bouts...he was in the coast guard, but that one certain grandpa evidently knew how to spread it on extra thick!

Only in cases were there is a blurry line. For example, in some states, where the line between professional and amateur wasn't established, often due to the legality of the sport in an area. In the cases of these bouts, they are not legitimate professional bouts.

If you can find any prof, newspapers ect, that he did have any fights that would be a help, until then no bouts will be put in.

There is no evidence of your father boxing, it's that simple. If he had fought, undoubtedly something would have turned up.
