Maybe you should re read the original post and then look up what peoples champion means. i think him and khan are the two biggest names in british boxing (active boxers).

People = Self exlainatory i.e The people not just boxing nuts.

If people like him and want to see him do well he has the popularity and fanbase to become a peoples champion. Do you doubt he could sell out an arena at the moment?

I think you're over estimating my opinion of Harrison i dont think for one second think he could fill the MEN but he could definatley fill a respectable size arena and he is probably the biggest draw TV wise in the UK and if not he is certainly the 2nd biggest draw.

He used to get 6.5 million people tuning in to watch him fight and has been part of one of the most lucrative ppv events in british history. He's not just a top 10 strictly dancer he's one of the contestants on the top viewed prime time tv program in the UK. i didnt say he could only sell out a teeny tiny arena i said a respectable sized arena, how many fighters have managed to sell out the 02 or MEN? Thats the other extreme , however if he managed another world title shot he sure could..

Boxers with cross over appeal tend to draw the biggest crowds and viewers Harrison is a big big name. Calzaghe was best known in the UK after doing strictly imagine how many fans he would have had if he had done that and then had some more fights.

I think alot of that was down to no having a promoter. If he had been with say FW he would have had loads of confidence builders. As i've said before he looked great in the williams rematch and was looking great in the 1st sprott fight, he had finally started letting the leather fly. Once he got sparked by sprott he went gun shy again, he showed a good 12 minutes of fighting at his potential.

Im not as deluded as people would make out, i do however believe he has one last roll of the dice left in him to do something impressive, i also think despite everything he has been good for the sport.

Seeing Audley on Ringside yesterday, undoubtedly more humble but sorry is a complete lost cause as a boxer.

My background is in Sport Psychology, and yes boxing is 80 percent mental - but Audley just focuses way way too much on mental preperation - blaming things not being right mentally for his complete non show.

Its always about the mental side of things for him. Against Rogan he kept saying how it "all seems to be clicking now"..... He's had twice the experience of the Irish cabby.

You know he needs a "Mickey" type character behind him and just say "stop fecking thinking" and just throw some punches.

He's too robotic like in his mental approach, everything has to be perfect or he is fucked. Unfortunately, this is not Golf where you largely in control of things... you've got a live opponent against you who isn't going to do all the things you planned.

If there were any people who still believe in him, I just hope that interview highlighted that he is a lost cause. He cannot adapt mentally, mainly because he has a fear of his opponent and the only way he can win fights is if it is on his terms.

Showed mental toughness against Sprott, yeah I'll give him his dues there.... But lets not forget, had Sprott just ran away focused on defence for the last round - we would have been calling it a very bad night at the office.

Also if a fighter hasn't sparred in 2 months (thats the entire duration of most people's camp right?) and cannot do a press up. Then the BBBoC should be put into disrepute for clearing Audley medically fit to box, or at least need to re-assess their medical procedure's.

Quite ironic I thought on the show that Powell was stating that he saw him training like a demon and in great shape and looking the part in gym in the build. And Audley was painting an entirely different picture - no sparring, no press ups etc.

He showed on Prizefighter that he can commit his punches - but only when he believes that he has an absolute overwhelming chance against his opponent.

On Ringside I thought I heard him say that he would have preferred to have been knocked out in the Haye fight (might be wrong ?) - he comes across well and can certainly talk a good fight, but he is unable to back it up in a live fight (and his biggest problem is that he knows this).

Also, what promoter would want to get involved (I assume Audley wants paying well) - I can't see any TV company taking this on either.

Rather than working his way up the rankings, he wants one fight then another World title shot !

I really, really like Audley as a person and often enjoyed seeing his considerable physical talent come to fruition in the ring.

Sadly, it's been clear for the last 5 years or so that the guy only has the hunger to be a boxer for about 3 months of the year. He's now gone nearly 12 months without throwing a punch at someone yet expects to compete with guys who train every single day.

Firstly i didnt say he was a future champ i said he was becoming the peoples champ and secondly i started the thread before i got a tweet. i was adding that in as a bit of a joke, my point is that people are starting to really like him and he is becoming very popular.

Audley has called out Tyson Fury and Tom Dallas and wants to start fighting at the start of next year. Audley reckons that if he beats someone like Fury then he will get a title shot against one of the Klitschko's. I think his plan is to gain popularity on the show and then say to the Klitschko's that he can guarantee 3 million grannies will buy ppv to see him fight for the title. The best bit was when Audley said of his fight with Haye, that he was "Not in the ring that night........."
