Anyone stop drinking coffee cold turkey?

Post by zojo »

I haven't had a cup in a few days and so far I have had no headaches, but I have been groggy and I noticed I am a tad defensive. Anyone given up caffine?

I gave up completely 20 years ago for awhile. I was drinking way too much, like 10 cups a day, and then suffering from severe insomnia. For 2 days I had a severe headache, and just wanted to sleep, then I was ok. I'm back to coffee now, but very seldom have more than 2 cups, and it's extremely rare if I have it after noon.

These days I'll only have one, in the morning. Then green tea. And a lot of it!

Pretty much the same I have about 3 cups of coffee a week, always of a morning. Probably about 3 cups of green tea a day.

Green Tea makes me feel sick for some reason... gutted, because everyone seems to think it's great. Hmm.

I worked with a chap who had cut down his coffee consumption in order to stop cutting himself while shaving!

He used to drink double size filter coffees from a giant mug.

Of course I laughed at the suggestion but as I too would always nick myself and wore white shirts every day  thought i'd try abstaining and you know what........it worked! Don't ask me how though? :oo

Could drinking coffee make a boxer more prone to cuts?

I have stopped because for some reason I feel like I simply don't absorb food like I used to. I drink roughly 4 cups a day, but that has been a lot for me. I wonder if Coffee is contributing to my weight loss.

I have aslo been mentioned by a could of co-workers who have mentioned I should try a gluten free diet.

:TU: Good call with gluten.
Apparently, it may be harmful even if you're not allergic to it.

I worked in starbucks when I was seventeen and was annoyed they'd got me working 12 until 10pm one Sunday.

I thought if I wasn't working I'd be in pub and might have upto 16 pints in this timeframe. So I had 16 pints of filter coffee throughout the shift. I honestly felt as smashed as I would have done in the pub. It was quite fun, but I wouldn't do it again.

My mother has coeliac disease and my sister decided to join her on a gluten free diet as a form of support or whatever, but my sister said she feels much healthier, never feels bloated and has much more energy since going on the diet. I've tasted some of the gluten free foods and it's very hit and miss - some bread is decent and other bread is like eating cardboard, however I much prefer gluten free sausages to the normal ones. It's amazing the amount of normal foodstuffs that have gluten in them but you never really notice it until you have to.
