Roberts really disappointed me in that final. Just holding all the time and didn't seem to have any bollocks to grit it out when he really needed it. Failed his 'gut check' for me and that will be a doubt now for the rest of his career.

Should have been docked a point for that amount of clinching. He'd been doing it all night. If it had been nipped in the bud early on, then he would have been less likely to taint the final with it.

As for Choi... maybe he doesn't deserve a shot at a title, but give the man a British passport! At the minute he offers little to British fighters other than a few dents in the head and the shame of being beat up by someone twice their age.

Yes, I'm aware that Choi won the first encounter; does that somehow change the fact that he lost the rematch? Regardless of how many rounds the bouts were scheduld for, no fighter who deserves a world title shot would lose to Matthews, or have problems with a complete and utter novice like George Jupp.

I like Choi, but at this point he wouldn't be a meritorious world-title challenger. He should fight Matthews again or face another top domestic operator; perhaps Stephen Smith or the winner of Selby-Simpson. These fighters are all on the same level as Choi, or at least a very similiar level, and I'm sure the action would be very entertaining and competitive.

I have seen Choi-Asiku; that win makes Choi no more deserving of a world title shot than El Maachi is for his win over Colas.

So do you think that El Maachi is a legit world title challenger? Was Audley a legit world title challenger? Is everyone with a Prizefighter trophy and a career best win over a top 35-50 opponent a legit world title challenger?

It's hard not to like Choi; he seems like a great guy and his intrepid style is fun to watch. However, when I isolate these factors from his accomplishments and recent form, and judge him on the basis of the latter pair, I can't say that he should be competing at boxing's highest level.

its hard to make the argument of fighters "deserving" or not deserving world title shots in the current climate and considering how some fighters who were seemingly not deserving have got their shots.

Some lousy fighters get title shots but that shouldn't obfuscate what it means to be a credible challenger

Really enjoyed Saturday night, York Hall wasn't full by a long way but there was still a decent atmosphere and exciting fights. I had 3 mates who've never been to boxing before along with me and they have now been seduced by live boxing and are already asking for the next event, this Saturday is too soon for them, but we now have 3 more fans

Really glad Choi won, he had a great crowd with him and he seems like a real honest fella.
