Pray for Pedro Sosa

Post by DCAmateurBoxing »

Pedro was in a terrible accident this am and his sister was killed. He is currently in a coma. Please take some time to pray for this young man and his family. He was due to turn pro this Monday.

I am really glad to hear she's off the respirator. That's good news. :D I also understand that a grievance has been filed against her coach for knowing she was having headaches and not telling anyone.

Prayers are with the Sosa family. I cant send flowers to the ICU at Jacobi so hopefully surgery went ok for him and his condition gets better. Such a sad day today. Suppose to announce his going Pro. I just hope he pulls thru.

Mel: glad to hear someone is taking action for his irresponsible behavior as a coach...

Update from Gary Stark who visited Pedro today:

"The Prayers are working Guys. He's a Fighter. No Head Damage, No Spine Damage thats important. He's moving his Legs and Fingers. Broken Ribs and he had Emergency surgery on his lung. And the Surgery was a success. He Heard us speaking to him .I told him were all in his corner and hes in our Prayers. Keep the Positive energy Going its working.."

Great news but keep the prayers going and keep the Sosa family in your thoughts as they lost Pedro's sister, who also had a young son.

Kullen - thanks for the update on Pedro. BTW - Gary Stark was one of my favorite amateurs in the 90s - and I'm glad he was able to visit Pedro. :D

at the trials, I sat next to a really nice guy who was backing Marcus Brown and we talked a lot over the tourney. It turned out he was garys grandfather. Really really nice guy. I told him I saw almost all of garys fights on msg. The Starks are good people.

Yes, they are. Got to know Gary's dad, since he was training Jr. I'm sure neither one remember me but Junior made a big impression on me at the time.
