Only the hardcore would watch these anyway. I think the more of the worry is if people do not subscribe the quality of the big bills gets less.Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:Its not so much the Saturday shows featuring the mainstream FW fighters because we know that they are usually very good (in my opinion) but its these Friday shows that seem to be simply thrown together for the sake of having a show...... it ain't gonna do them any favours if this is an advert for whats to follow when Allegedly channel goes to subscription....leforge wrote:The last two domestic shows they have done have been poor quality. This one just looks if they are filling a date rather than a planned out show. Whereas this Saturday bill is quality but it does not seem to be getting much press again.Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:Without banging on about Allegedly channel, just getting tired now of it. Their show is less than 2 weeks away and still nothing confirmed regarding fights and instead loads of speculation. Sick of last minute planning and changes already, looks like its gonna come a cropper and quantity (2 shows a week) will be at the detriment of Quality......
Lets hope someone pulls their finger out soon and lets us know the line up for Nov 11th. Hope they havent bitten of more than they can chew with this station because technically it could be fantastic.

Jeff Evans by any chance?Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:I was gonna suggest Hari Miles but he fought recently at almost 200lbs so not much chance of him making weight?? Give us a clue!!!!sugar sweet 1 wrote:when this fight announced you will think who?but my guy is tough as they come and will beat mckenzie,on a lighter note hope mr warren puts me with jamie cox to win the commonwealth title that i
held for so long.
Cox should give Sai a rematch out of principle before fighting anyone else because he lost that fight and the ref was a disgrace....

I was with Jeff on the weekend and he did not mention anything? He was supposed to fight on the Newport bill but his opponent backed out (one of two) so I suppose he is fight ready. Good luck to him if he is (how about Justin Hugh?)

It is Jeff and I think he's got every chance of winning. He's in a win-win situation as long as he does himself justice, not many people know of him but they will after the McKenzie fight.

I think Enzo's move to LH is going to prove to be a mistake. He's going to be pretty emaciated at 175. He is a natural cruiser, always looked a little bit fleshy, but no way did he look like someone who could make 175 at any stage of his career.
Fighter at late stages of their careers moving down in weight, generally seem to pay a price for it, certainly RJJ was never the same again, and Chris Byrd was hardly a success either.

Does Allegedly have a good relationship with any of the other major UK promoters? Is he on speaking terms with any of them?saturday_kid wrote:allegedly channel need to get some other UK promoters invovled, but probably wont due to politics and things thats happened in the past

Re: Enzo Maccarinelli vs Ovill McKenzie 11th Nov?!?!?!? C
No offence but Jeff Evans v Mckenzie is hardly a main event,

I train and manage Jeff who is a dedicated, down to earth family man with a never-say-die attitude!!! What a great opportunity for him. He's not had a great deal of experience but he is a very strong, tough lad with a good jab and under-rated skills. Ovill will be a big favourite and rightly so but Jeff has nothing at all to lose. This shot couldn't have come to a nicer, more dedicated guy

Enjoy it - the small hall nights have been terrific for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the haters/knockers have never been to a live non-spectacular show before.
Last week in Manchester was a great night - 10 fights that would stand up against any night where the main event is not a British, European or Commonwealth title fight, trust me. Find me a night with ten fights that was better.
Halifax will be the same.
Adios.

Cardiff,
You are right to be concerned that fights are getting announced too late - I will start to push for as much warning on names and potential fights as possible.
Adios and enjoy.

I can't see why jeff can't win against ovill. There is more than one blueprint to beat him the guys lost like 7 or 8 times. Obviously dangerous in the first 3 rounds but he can easily be outboxed. Also saw Dean francis make a ragdoll out of him inside 2 mins in Bristol back in 07. It took ovill about 15 minutes to get up!

thanks again.
Totally agree Cardiff, time off work, travelling on late notice, Friday traffic its a nightmare. But as luck would have it I am from Halifax so absolutely no excuses for me not going.
