I was at the fight and I was sure that they didn't give his true record (4 wins and 1 loss) but now i've watched the video back on FW youtube channel, its clear for all to see! Shocking really.

Anyone else know of any instances where a record has been falsely ridiculously inflated??

Ghanaian Moore is something of an unknown quantity, as has become the norm with African fighters visiting Britain. The 27-year-old’s official record, confirmed by the Ghana Boxing Authority, is however 10-0 with six stoppages (not 4-0, as listed on Boxrec).

Don't know the ins and outs but this was the general consensus at the time.

I have the 10 people he fought and his exact record and the dates of his fights, he'd also been seen at the Commenwealth games by Frankie who said he was a tough game kid, he turned out shite but so what?? Look at my defences and they were of a good level!

I have moved up with every fight since! I've had 18 fights and the only belt I've not contested is the European! I'll keep improving and I'll get to where I wanna get in the end!

I feel CL is trying to in some way tarnish me, all I'll say is keep trying! I'll continue to learn and improve and it won't be long till I get my way!

Fair play mate, I don't think after your last performance that people are in anyway gona be taken in by any attempts to tarnish you (if that's the agenda behind this guy's post), you proved yourself in the Cleverley fight and that you belong at a very decent level.

What a weird thing to put by the thread starter. Anyone who has boxed an african has boxed some one with an inflated and possibly false record thats a fact look at when there is no ref to be named or the fact there fought them in togo or benin or in a gymnasium,these are manufactured fights so theres a lot of people who have done this including some of the welsh prospects .

Also the latvians if they have fought in a place called club rigas its actualy there gym and if you look the ref is usualy one of the journymen fighters who frequent britain. These fights are also staged so to be honest almost any prospect over here who has fought a foriegn journyman has fought some one with an inflated record so tryin to point the finger at one person makes you look like you have an agenda

I just noticed that BoxRec have listed the record of Asamoah Wilson (the guy that Don Broadhurst beat for the Commonwealth title) as 0-3-0 when he fought Broadhurst but at the time his record was said to be 12(6)-3-2. So Atoli Moore doesn't seem that bad now..!

If an infinite number of monkeys were given an infinite number of typewriters and an infinite amount of time, could they churn out more inaccurate, nonsensical strings of text than contained within the average African fighter's record? I don't know, probably; but it would be a close run thing. If you've not watched them before, or don't know a very reliable source who has i.e. your conjoined twin brother, until that first bell goes an African fighter could amount to the sum total of all the shit produced by the aforementioned monkeys, or they could be the fistic equivalent of Shakespeare. So the accuracy or inaccuracy of Atoli Moore's record is much ado about nothing, in my view.

I disagree.

If a promoter signs a boxer for a title fight, then surely he owes a duty of care to his own boxer, the people who have bought tickets, the tv company that put up money, the sponsors who put up money etc. etc. to be fully aware of the record and quality of the boxer in question.

Although sometimes mistakes are made (eg. Cox), but hopefully the promoter can then rely on the referee and judges to sort that out.
