Looking over at the "Floyd wants PacMan May 2012" thread, it appears that stujones's man-crush is a certain Mr. Oscar De La Hoya.
We should get a sticky made up with all our man-crushes listed, so that newcomers & stupid people can look it up & know whether or not we're being pudenda about a particular issue or whether we're in love & just talking shite.
Always have maintained that I will typically defend the in ring performances and record of both Oscar and Tyson (except for the fouling antics of Tyson) when in debates. I especially find it bizarre when people will condem Oscar's resume and suggest he took easy options. I would hope I aint the only that finds it wrong when people claim the only "greats" or top class dangerous foes Oscar took on were shot fighters who had recently took batterings.
He aint the greatest of all time, far from it. Unlucky in some of his fights yes, but I really do believe if we are going to question the resume of who Oscar fought - then no fighter is safe from criticism. Only Pacquiao comes close as an active fighter in matching the resume of names (Froch/Ward is fast tracking their way there also).
As for Lights out, anyone with a man crush on him should not want to see him lose more of his marbles and continue. He'll always be entertaining but his speech is a massive concern and his inconsistencies in what he was saying.... only fighters from the states are any good, yet he doesn't have a bad word about Pacquiao.
He also calls Khan a "bum" and then states that Malignaggi is a "good boxer"

Being a bit of a Montiel fanboy myself I prefer just to ignore that fight.
And I have already put money on JMM once again giving Manny a lesson
Thinking back over my posts I think I usually more negative than overly positive. Maybe I need to step up.

Holyfield was very far gone then.He was 42 and not a patch on the 34 year old version who beat Tyson and the 28-30 year old who traded so memorably in the first two fights with Bowe.
That said, Toney was still a joy to watch that night. I just think that the Holyfield that beat Tyson would have been too much for Toney.

Oh I'm not suggesting that Toney would have won, against that version of Holyfield, still think it would have been one hell of a fight. Great matchup of styles.

I would though love to see him pull it off somehow, as unlikely as it seems.
My concern is that James still has one hell of a set of whiskers, and Lebedev can really punch, this could mean Toney takes a protracted beating.
Even in his condition, Toney probably has enough coordination and memories of skills to ride out storms and get himself through many more rounds than he should. I hope if it is one sided his corner pull him out or the ref intervenes.
Toney looks kinda fleshy still, not sure if that's a good or a bad sign, he sure doesn't look drawn or weight drained, but his muscle mass looks a little less than usual to me.

You're right about that.The body shots were a killer.He was just so relaxed and accurate in there. I have to say that I was gutted for Evander but could appreciate the sublime skills of Toney. He is a seriously gifted fighter.Tough as old boots too.I hope he wins today.

as for barkley & judah quix they wasnt exactly there :!: curry was a tremendous victory & honeyghan is well respected for his reighn as undisputed reighn. he fought who ever unlike mguigan who swerved nelson.

It's obvious that Toney knows his stuff, which is why it's a shame that he can't occasionally switch the garbage off. He made very sweeping statements, no doubt to court controversy. Saying that Mexican fighters suck apart from one guy is just plain stupid and let's be right here, he wasn't judging Khan against the top p4p and refering to him as a bum, he was saying that he was a bum full stop, which again is just plain ridiculous. He then said that Malignaggi was a good boxer which just made his Khan statement all the more stupid. Toney is good entertainment and i put the thread up partly so people could have a laugh about his comments, but i realy do wish that Toney would be more considered at times, because when he does decide to speak sense, he comes across as very knowledgable and interesting.
