SPOILER: Katsidis v Burns

Post by dan h »

Well it looks like Katsidis may have reached his peak and is on the way down.

He was entertaining and tough as always but was well outboxed. I thought the scorcards of 117-111 were right on.

I think he needs to change his walk up with my head down style and maybe learn to move in move out. He has become predictable for his opponent who just counter him big time

I had it several points closer than the official cards, but yes, he looks to be on the way down. To be fair to Burns, he is a lot better than I previously thought he was.

I had it much closer than the judges but the right guy got the decision. Burns is quite tall for the weight. He used his jab well and his defence was good.
Not sure where Mick goes from here.

Burns has a good record. He relinquished the WBO super Featherweight title to fight Katsidis after defending his title three times.

He is no mug.

You're spot on about him being predictable, he really needs to add some angles or something to his attack you can't just keep walking straight forward all night. He also needs to work on his defense IMO he let through way to many jabs from Burns and that's what lost him the fight.
