Katsidis

Post by bigred83 »

first thoughts - tough fight, but he needs a new trainer.
that right hand needs some serious work, cos it sux.
and the guy can move, he has foot work, but not getting used. smith is obviously a good trainer, but not a great trainer. katsidis shouldnt have lost today, but i feel like its a lack of a great corner that hurts him.
2nd thought: no way did burns win 9 rnds to 3, home town scorecard, but wat do ya d?

Hard to give Mick more than 3 rounds, 4 at the absolute max.

How did you score it?

I had Burns by 3 rounds - the judges scorecards were abit wide of the mark but it was a clear win for Burns, sad really Katsidis is one of my favourite fighters, but noway could I score the fight for him last night.

Katsidis vs Ganoy would be good! he needs to come back to aussie instead of being a stepping stone to prospects, Ganoy is a prospect but it will test his level & where he is at.

Katsidis claims that he feels more comfortable at super lightweight than at lightweight now.

He should make an impression at ten stone.

I thought Katsidis pinched it by a round. Can't argue with a Burns win but I thought the scores were way too wide.

IMO, light welter
..even welter is where he should be fighting at....and ditch street fight attitude = Take 5+ to land 1...til death do us part

I agree (although I had it 115-114 for Burns). I think that Burns got a lot more credit than he deserved simply because his work was a lot 'neater.'

finally.

he had to try something different. he was starting to get too many losses. his value will plummet if he doesn't improve soon.

Have a look at the fighters Katsidis has lost to. They were all championship class. It is not as if he has been beaten by nobodies.

we all know that, but with better training/instructions he could have had a better chance of being the winner.
