Groves Vs Degale II
George has filled into the division, James been rocked silly lately. Who wins the rematch?
I say Groves by KO.
I say Groves by KO.
Re: Groves Vs Degale II
I'd lean toward Groves, but it's one of those match ups that could go either way.

Re: Groves Vs Degale II
Groves for me he is still in his learning fights and I think he will a world tittle no doubt were as degale has built himself up so much he has to deliver every fight and this is just pure pressure on him he is getting caught way to much as well George for me all the way
Re: Groves Vs Degale II
I think the power of Groves is clearly underestimated. Nobody has done what he has just done to Smith. You can discuss "levels" about Smith, but he has proven himself to be a very durable fighter against decent punchers. People talk about the Anderson fight like it was a "black mark" in his career - the end result was he stopped him, another durable fighter.
However, Groves is still very much a work in progress, and question marks about his punch resistance will certainly continue after this fight - he was definately hurt at the end of the first and defensively looked open in that opener.

With the right tactics once again, with George maybe showing a bit more aggression, I'd fancy him for the late stoppage or UD.
The facts that Groves was down against Anderson, buzzed in Vegas and shook a bit last night are only going to make him stronger, in my opinion.

Re: Groves Vs Degale II
I picked Groves to win the first fight by a slither, but in a rematch I'd fancy him to do a number on Degale who looked hurt and tired against a very crude and 1-dimensional opponent last time out.
Cracks have appeared in Degale and with the right approach George could split them wide open.

Totally agree. And the fact Groves boxed on the back foot throughout the Degle fitgt meant his power would not come through. If he mixes it up he can stop James. Groves himself said after the Degale fight that he was growing into the division properly. Groves jab last night was good and the power also.
Groves to stop Degale if they meet again. James does not have good power and as you mentioned the pressure he puts on himself has consumed him.
Groves Ko 7 De Gale.

George won the first fight because of what James didn't do. He waited far too long, went to sleep at times and wouldn't make the same mistakes again.
I'm a Groves fan but he will have to KO Degale next time out.

Degale also said he was wary of Groves power and that made him hesitant. He did not want to make a mistake. Degale will be ever more wary after the way he was stunned against a relatively light puncher. Plus isn't Degale reallly a lt heavy? Is the weight making taking its toll?Tarquin Tarpaulin IV wrote:George won the first fight because of what James didn't do. Groves points, again.
DeGale won't improve because he believes as some fighters do, that he knows it all already. Groves is the type of fighter who listens to his team, DeGale listens to the mirror.

That just about sums up Degale and his trainer the well known rapper Mc Jimmy McDboogapants.Yorkshiresuperstar wrote:Groves points, again.
