Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
I do like John, he looks to getting the right sparring in Fury and Towers. He will start an underdog i think, but Price has yet to be tested and anything can happen in the heavyweights.
Its the kind of fight that my support is divided as I also like Price as a boxer as well

What do you expect him to eat at a show? Vichysoisse salad? Protein drinks?leforge wrote:I saw big John last night eating two hot dogs at wembley!Karl Jade wrote:Someone said he was looking really good in sparring last month, forget who it was.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
Who do you think would win a hotdog eating contest? Chisora or Mcdermott?leforge wrote:I saw big John last night eating two hot dogs at wembley!Karl Jade wrote:Someone said he was looking really good in sparring last month, forget who it was.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
McDermott should be a decent test for Price at this stage of his career but I hope Price can make a real statement here. He needs to be fighting way more often than he does also. He should be doing what Fury is doing and fighting every 2 months.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
Saw chisora there last night he looked in better shape than fury fight!yid14 wrote:Who do you think would win a hotdog eating contest? If John shows up in condition (like he usually does) it'll be a very tough fight for Price. May even go the distance.

Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
It is pretty obvious that John McDermott will come into this fight extremely motivated for his British Heavyweight final eliminator shot against Liverpool's David Price because if he does lose this fight I do not see him getting another crack at the Lonsdale belt, having dropped two points decisions against Danny Williams and getting blasted out in a round by Matt Skelton in his third other opportunity. I do believe he has got plenty of strength in his punches that will give Price a few things to think about in the early stages of the fight, but I do see Price's superior height, reach and jab just being too much for McDermott and I think Price will stop him in the later rounds in a very gallant effort.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
I thought he beat Williams atleast once, Poor Mcdermott he's had some stinking decisions over the years, don't think this one will go to the judges scorecards though.IRLangmaid25 wrote:It is pretty obvious that John McDermott will come into this fight extremely motivated for his British Heavyweight final eliminator shot against Liverpool's David Price because if he does lose this fight I do not see him getting another crack at the Lonsdale belt, having dropped two points decisions against Danny Williams and getting blasted out in a round by Matt Skelton in his third other opportunity. Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
I agree in the first fight I had McDermott winning it and I have not seen the second fight between them yet.yid14 wrote:I thought he beat Williams atleast once, Poor Mcdermott he's had some stinking decisions over the years, don't think this one will go to the judges scorecards though.IRLangmaid25 wrote:It is pretty obvious that John McDermott will come into this fight extremely motivated for his British Heavyweight final eliminator shot against Liverpool's David Price because if he does lose this fight I do not see him getting another crack at the Lonsdale belt, having dropped two points decisions against Danny Williams and getting blasted out in a round by Matt Skelton in his third other opportunity. Me too. Though I think it'll be a lot earlier.MachoMan09 wrote:I think John's made for Price and will likely be harpooned within five or six rounds, regardless of his condition.
Can see Big John trying to get in close to rough Price up, but ends up taking a massive straight right which finishes the fight, earlier than most will expect.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
McDermott beat Williams twice and Fury once, and was robbed of each.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
Second time against Fury he glandular fever said he took the fight as he needed the money!Karl Jade wrote:McDermott beat Williams twice and Fury once, and was robbed of each.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
Am looking forward to this fight, should be an interesting little titbit, or a big titbit, depending on what size big John comes in at.
Re: McDermott promises to give everything against Price
yes, he did look a bit swollen!leforge wrote:Second time against Fury he glandular fever said he took the fight as he needed the money!Karl Jade wrote:McDermott beat Williams twice and Fury once, and was robbed of each.
