Taxi for Rawling

Post by stujones »

Anyone watch the bill from Germany last night.... and the Travis Walker vs Pulev fight. Now, Rawling made a sensible comment about the fight going on for too long. Walker was brave brave brave but absolutely knackered and it was an accident waiting to happen. Luckily, Pulez didn't capatalise and the fight lasted the distance.

However, Rawling continually made the point that if it was a British referee it would have been stopped. He also made the comparison between this fight going on to long and Briggs vs Klitchsko going on to long..... made insinuation cause they were not held in the UK - thats why both fights went too long.

And the ref for Klitchsko vs Briggs was........

Correction: If it's a British Ref and a British fighter is winning, expect a nice, premature stoppage. If the away fighter is winning, don't expect s***.

Prior to the Huck fight he described Ola Afolabi as a "British-based Nigerian". Pretty sure he's a US-based Brit.

:OhYes:

Or perhaps the away fighter drops his hands for a quick showboat, the Brit throws a flurry that misses and the ref stops it.

Kinda like Calzaghe vs Torres.

Not on a good run Mr Rawling, is he ?
Seems to be getting an onslaught over his comments about Sky - if indeed Carrot Cruncher is the man himself.

Crikey, I didn't know carrot cruncher might be Rawling. I mean obviously he seemed to be very, very keen on the chap but it never occured to me it could be the man himself. :KO:

What were the comments about Sky you've mentioned?

If it his him, and I haven't seen anything that proves that yet, he's been putting the boot in over Sky's coverage etc etc whilst at the same time cosying up to them face to face. You can obviously view his posts.
That's how I've heard it - but this is boxing !
Also heard he's been getting grief on other forums where Carrot Cruncher also posts.

Add another, After Ovil McKenzie had won the title last night, he reminded Ovill that he had lost it by 1st round knockout the last time he'd won it.

why would you remind someone of that in their moment of celebration???

In fairness Ovill said in the build-up the key for him wasn't winning the title but keeping hold of it because he was still haunted by losing in his first defence last time. So Rawling was following a lead, not merely being insensitive.
